we stayed at the New Guildroy in January 2012, the hotel is clean tidy and cosy. The owners are great to chat too and make you feel at home. They recognise that the certain parts of the hotel need updating (and they do write this in their hotel guide, although the hotel in my opinion is fine when you take into... More

We stayed at this hotel over the Christmas period and I personally was dissapointed with what was on offer.. First I have to say that Simon and Rhona are very nice people and work extremely hard and it's true the breakfasts are great. The hotel itself was very much dated and in need of a lot of work to bring... More

Firstly may I say thank you for taking the time to write a review on Tripadvisor. Secondly, may I apologise to the recent reviews whom I haven't had chance to reply to yet, and say that this will be addressed over the coming quieter weeks. Rhona and I were sorry to hear that you were disappointed with what we have... More

we wanted to feel at ease because it was winter and we were visiting family rather than touristing. The photos fairly reflect what the hotel is like. If boutique is what you are after maybe not your thing but if you may have time on your hands and don't want to feel like you must be out all day or... More

Thank you for your review. We are absolutely not 'boutique', so you're absolutely right to point this out. We are slowly trying to get rid of any 60's/70's garish features that may be left, and instead create nice welcoming spaces. As a result, we want the Edwardian look re-instated in the hallway, which it has been, typical Blackpool snug, why... More

We arrived early on the Friday afternoon after a long journey from Dorset. We were greeted by Simon who without any hesitation offered to change our room for one on the first floor as our original room was on the second floor, as my husband had forgotten to mention when booking that I have mobility problems. Simon offered us coffee... More

Once again, we were made to feel instantly at home by Simon & Rhona's hospitality. Even though the New Guideroy was full we, and the many other guests we spoke with, were extremely satisfied and impressed by the personal service from our hosts. Many thanks for a super week-end. Hi Marlene and Malcolm, Thanks for taking the time to write a review. So sad to hear your daughters' wedding plans scuppered Christmas and New Year, but so glad New Year came through in the end. It was fantastic, Malcolm looked awesome, and looking forward to seeing you at Christmas next year, if not before (March 24th wink! wink!), Simon... More

Thanks for the review Robert. As you pointed out, all family rooms have PS/2 and games for the kids, and fridges. The rooms for families of 5 are adjoining rooms, and as our B&B has a policy of no walk-ins, we are totally family friendly. The kids can come down in their pyjamas in the communal areas, often it's mum... More
