There were 27 of us Girls from a meat factory in Shropshire who came for a Hen Weekend. All I can say is that the Calypso is a fabulous "fun" hotel - the owner is a scream and the staff were more than helpful, and we couldn't have wished for a better stay. The rooms were spotless and the beds... more

We found the hotel easily enough, parking could be a problem as its on street and only 6pm to 8am, then after that limited to 60 minutes. On arriving we were allocated our rooms and i went in to find the room hadn't been cleaned from the previous occupant! The staff were very apologetic and put me into another room... more

Well what can I add that has not been said before. The hotel has an excellent location being approx. 1 minute to the tower etc.The room was big with a double and 2 single beds but the room had not been hovered especially under the beds as we found empty fanta bottles and chocolate wrappers. The en-suite was clean and had a... more

I would agree with some of the other reviews that the rooms were very basic but they were clean. Went to Legends which was very good,... more

Never again, tiny room with double bed in, not seen a vacumm for ages by the large amount of debris under the bed and dressing table lodged between the wall and bed. Feeble dirty shower. Not disability friendly. Towels were never changed in a week. Breakfasts ok nothing special. more

We went out of season (March) so would definately not advise this. Most things were closed and no shows on anywhere until easter. Hotel staff were friendly and helpful. Meals were good but no choice and no 5 or 6 course meals, strictly 3 course both fri and sat. The two rooms we booked were awful, small, dreary and smelt of damp,... more
