We had selected the Midland Hotel for an annual re-union of friends for its location and setting.

I trust that my account proves of particular interest to prospective visitors who are also wheelchair users. It is based on the expectation generated by the website, telephone conversation with a member of staff, the tariff and our actual experience and, I hope, is fair, objective and balanced.

Arrival

Like the bridge of an elegant ocean liner, the Midland Hotel curves gracefully along Morcambes promenade. Described as “modernist masterpiece” and Morecambe’s “crowning glory” one cannot one cannot miss the Midland, or fail to be impressed by its architecture, an art deco masterpiece originally built in 1933 and re-opened in June 2008 following a five year long multi-million pound restoration
