Spent one night here in January 2008 and would not stay again. The price seemed decent at the time but since staying here I've stayed in many other UK hotels at a similar if not cheaper price that were in a better location with cleaner rooms. YUK! The hotel is old and very unkept. If it wernt for the bar man giving us los of drinks then id of quite happily slept on the pavement rather than the bed! Having read previous reviews I booked my night here with some trepidation. The web link to the restaurant page was not working (and still isn’t) so I was unsure what to expect. The hotel (actual building) was just 'ok', a little tired but did the job. The staff on the other hand did not. They seemed inconvienced by the customers! Spent last night at the stage hotel as we were visiting the racecourse and were very pleased with our choice. Hotel clean and tidy with lots of car parking. Check in efficient even though several people arrived at the same time - our room was not the one that we booked but this was quickly resolved without any problems .... more

The hotel was in good location only 5 mins drive from the city centre and motorway. Plus carparking. My room was really nice with flat screen tv and nice decor. The staff were very helpful and obliging. Would come back again. more

I've stayed here a couple of times beofre. The resturant was awful - I was given stale bread (not buttered) with my starter and brown, slimy salad leaves. The main course had "complimentary" hair in.
