Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Really lovely hotel in a great location. Really good to visiting the city or university. The room was really nice comfortable and clean. The breakfast was great with lots of choice. All staff were really helpful, would love to stay again when we are next in the area.

What a lovely hotel, very bespoke, beautifully decorated, clean, in a lovely part of the city, very old nostalgic part of Leicester and the staff are great. I come to Leicester on business and this is far better than your run of the mill premier inn and cheaper

I really put some hard work deciding where to stay in Leicester on this particular week end. I looked at a lot of reviews, looked at the prices, parking and location. I decided on this non-chain hotel which is pretty much in the centre of the city. And to get into the centre is a straight path, New Walk, which is well used, well lit and takes you past some interesting charming old houses and also the museum. So this is a great locality to stay. They don't charge for parking, which in the end really swung my decision to stay here. The price was very reasonable, the room (We picked a suite) was excellent. Spacious and luxurious. Loved the Bath. Initially could not find a kettle, as there was just a coffee machine present, but found it, along with cups, biscuits etc, stowed away in a beautiful box near the wardrobe. This hotel has a lot of character and a lot of history. I heard quiet a few guest reading up on it during our stay. The breakfast was amazing on both days. Sunday the service was a bit slow, but we did arrive at the peak time. We had Saturday evening food, which was tasty, and well cooked (very crispy batter on the fish) . The bar was well stocked, and they had their own draft larger, not normally a fan, but was very nice. Reasonable prices too. All the staff were great, friendly and very helpful. I read other reviews of this hotel and found that such things as noise were unfounded. I had a good nights sleep, no noise from the street. The hotel needs a bit of TLC in some places, such as the window frames but I am sure the management have this in hand. It doesn't detract in any way from my very pleasant stay here. I have already decided that this will be my hotel of choice when returning to Leicester.

A return visit to the Belmont with my friends - we all travelled from different directions to meet in Leicester. We were warmly welcomed and lovely rooms allocated. We chose the Belmont as it is very easy to walk into the city centre, and handy for the station. Free parking on site too. A comfy nights sleep, excellent breakfast (including suitable food for my coeliac vegan friend. Friendly bar man and comfy space to relax after the theatre. We will certainly return.

We stayed here whilst visiting Leicester for a few days to take in the city and the Richard III museum. The hotels location is great, being a ten minute walk into the centre (or from the train station) via a pedestrianised route (New Walk). Our room (125) was lovely and spacious and had all the usual facilities expected of a hotel room (mini fridge, tea/coffee making facilities, television, etc). The Ensuite had both a shower and big bath. We had dinner in the Hotel restaurant on the first night, the staff were very friendly and provided a good service, and the food was well presented and delicious. The options for Breakfast were great, with the usually selection of juices, cereals, yoghurts and pastries, and with a variety of cooked options too. Again, all very tasty and served swifty. Overall we really enjoyed our stay at the Belmont Hotel and would most certainly stay here again if visiting Leicester in the future.

Hotel had a good sized free car park which is always a bonus. 10 mins walk from the centre of town. The area close to the hotel has quite a few restaurants and take away places. Check in was fast and efficient, the room was nice and clean. Not too much noise from outside the hotel. The only downside being breakfast started too late to try.

Stayed in this beautiful hotel over the weekend as we used to live in Leicester and came to visit family and friends. The hotel and staff are amazing. The rooms are spacious and beautifully decorated, we had breakfast both mornings and all I can say is that Vicky was amazing, nothing too much trouble for her - I’m a fussy eater but she accommodated to my needs, very polite and professional, her team are amazing too. Hotel is in a great location, close to city centre and train station. When back in Leicester will definitely be coming back to the Belmont, thank you for a wonderful stay

A comfortable hotel in a quiet location with good Internet connection and helpful, friendly staff, City centre is a pleasant walk away along a traffic free path. For us, the duvet was a little too warm for a good night's sleep but a nice hot bath/shower was available in ensuite bathroom and we enjoyed a very good breakfast.

We had an overnight stay with breakfast. We also had an evening meal in the restaurant which I would highly recommend as the food was delicious and plentiful. The staff were helpful, pleasant and courteous. The rooms were comfortable, warm, spacious and immaculate. A really lovely hotel in a pleasant location, within walking distance of De Montford Hall which was perfect for us. Highly recommended.

Great location, friendly family run hotel. Nice clean room and a great breakfast. Staff could not have been more accommodating particularly in the restaurant at breakfast. Located a short and pleasant walk from the city centre. Ideal if you were attending a football or Tigers match. Would definitely recommend it.
