I spent one night at the hotel in July whilst on a business trip in Leicester. I had booked the hotel on line a couple months in advance and therefore had a discounted rate, Having read the hotels description of their rooms I was not expecting luxury but a clean and comfortable stay. This was really not the case! I... more

I was a bit worried checking in here after reading the other reviews. However, it was the nearest hotel to the friends I was visiting and I was only going to sleep there. So here goes. My check in was handled efficiently and I carried my bag up 1 floor up the slightly creaky stairs into my 12' square single... more

booked into this hotel for 1 night. We travelled down from edinburgh as our son was having an operation. We booked the room with the 4 poster bed and double jacuzzi. We have never stayed in a hotel as bad as this one. It was dirty, old fashioned, smelly and horrible. I wish i had read the reviews before we... more

If we could get below "terrible" as a rating, we would. Booked in for Friday/Saturday nights. Several of the group requested room changes due to health and safety concerns (ie, terrible smells, unclean rooms). Where to start with the specifics of what's wrong? Strange smells abound. Soundproofing between rooms is non-existant (someone obviously had a gooooood time this morning!) Carpets... more

I didn't stay as this hotel was so bad. Having checked in I checked straight out again. The lack of fuss about doing so suggests I'm not the first person to have done so. Apart from the state of the place as mentioned by other people it just didn't feel a safe place to stay. Wouldn't even recommend to my... more

I stayed here with my wife for our anniversary...BIG MISTAKE!! When we arrived they allowed us to book in early..GOOD We went up to our room(four poster & double jacuzzi) there was a musty damp smell on the rickerty staircase. When we stepped inside our room it felt like ther were missing floorboards under the carpet. The four poster was... more

I had a group of visitors travelling to Leicester from abroad. The Stoneycroft was a reasonably priced option, offering enough twin rooms for the whole group. Unfortunately my guests found the hotel dirty and very low in quality. The showers/baths were so revolting that they were having showers at another venue. I was left feeling a little embarrassed to have... more

I needed somewhere to stay in Leicester and this place was relatively inexpensive. When I got there I found out why. My room was at the top of two flights of steep rickety stairs. The bathroom sink was on a slope so water from the tap ran back and pooled around the sink. The shower did not work and the... more
