I stayed at this hotel for two nights with breakfast and 3 course evening meal. I cannot fault the service in any way and was very well cared for being a lady travelling alone. Food was excellent value for money and nothing was too much trouble for staff and owners. Always greeted with a big smile. Room was very nice... more

Managed to find this place just 2 days before a proposed visit, it was £65 on the hotel's own website, on phoning I was informed it was £93, however the owner agreed to honour the price advertised. The room was nicely decorated and the en-suite bathroom was also nice. The TV was integrated freeview - so nice to be able... more

I was put into this hotel by work and my first reaction was oh no its 2*. I looked on trip advisor and most reviews were good and i thought the price was high for 2 star, so thought it should be ok, but after staying a few days here, i was really impressed as were my colleagues. The hotel... more

Lovely characteristic setting for hotel. Inviting and comfortable rooms with superb views. Wonderful owners, both friendly and helpful. Extremely delicious home-cooked fresh food, served with a pleasant smile. From the first minute to the last we were made to feel welcome and anything we requested was accomodated with a prompt efficient service of a high standard and 'no problem' attitude.... more

Where do I start. Lincoln was booked up that night but I found a room at the Hillcrest, now I know why. The main door is locked and you ring an intercom, I was met by a fellow in a scruffy tee shirt who told me I was in room 15 top of the stairs (3 flights), never booked me... more

This was a very last minute booking. Unhappily, I arrived in Lincoln at 10pm following a reservation mix up. Long story short, I was a million miles from home (or at least felt that way) with nowhere to stay and a town fully booked up due to a Xmas market that attracts tourists from around the globe. Enter the lovely... more

Stayed here for one night in order to visit the Cathedral. Upon arriving we had to wait for the girl to appear from I think downstairs. Our room was right at the top of this large old house with I think two flights of stairs which was tiring with suitcases but what can they do? Lifts are very expensive. Our... more

Very quiet hotel a short walk uphill to the Cathedral. Room 10 (£95 B&B) with canopy bed is very spacious with a good view but a bit chintzy. Breakfast is very good in a conservatory with a good view. Staff very helpful and friendly. Pleasant small bar. Would stay again. more

We were happily surprised with the quality of the room and common areas at the Hillcrest. It is a lovely old rectory with a well-kept back garden (next to a large city park) on a quiet back street. The historic district is a short 10-15 minute walk uphill from the hotel. The breakfast was good and filling and well-prepared. The... more
