This is a bit of a mixed review. The first surprise came when we realised we had to be checked into the hotel by 22:30 – as apparently they don’t have a Night Porter, and that is when the Receptionist leaves. We arrived with 10 minutes to spare, and were shown to our room. Or possibly a broom cupboard with... more

We booked the Washingborough Hall Country House on the 30th December for a very last minute get away for New Years Eve. We weren't sure what to expect having read some of the reviews on here as some are quite negative. When we arrived at the hotel i did wonder if i should reach for my National Trust tickets to... more

Damp cold room with 70's decor. Restaurant serves over fancy food not terribly well. There must be better places in this area. more

My partner and i have just come back for a one night's stay at Washingborough hall. The building and grounds are very grand but the decor quite disappointing, we stayed in a standard double and it was very 80's- chinzy decor and liminate flooring in the bathroom, and tired furnishings. The redeming factor about this hotels is it's food- probably... more

We booked this hotel at the last minute after being badly let down by a large chain hotel. We were a large family group needing 5 bedrooms and a dining room to celebrate my mum's birthday. They were helpful from the initial phone call and I was impressed to note after arrival that they had a sheet of notes about... more

What a shame, this hotel, doesn't make its grade very clear, when I arrived on a quiet Sunday evening, it became apparent this hotel, prefers to cater for conferences and wedding market, and not the couple seeking a few days of r&r Shown to room that was in desperate need of upgrading, but was given a room change when I... more

Stayed here for a birthday celebration. Loved every minute of it. The hotel was full of character and charm. All of the staff that I came into contact with were friendly and really helpful, doing everything they could to make sure our stay was enjoyable. The food was exquisite, I had a vegetarian option made with Goats cheese and it... more

Just returned from a Friday and Saturday night stay at this hotel. The hotel does have plenty of charm and character and we enjoyed it accepting that the hotel could never be a contempory 4 or 5 Star hotel. The room decor is dated but then the style does fit with the history of place. I would say that the... more

We have just spent two nights over the bank holiday, and while we enjoyed the break,I think the hotel is lacking in something. We have stayed at many country house hotels and I have to say this was not one of the better ones. The food is excellent and the young staff are very polite and pleasant, but if you... more
