Without doubt the best place I have ever stayed during my regular trips to Lincoln. This quaint hotel, which I believe dates from around 1350, still has many of its original features yet having all the modern facilities you would expect from an AA rated 5 star property. The whole place feels very realxed with check in taking place in... more

Looking for a self catering property in Lincoln to house six people for a family get-together we booked Bailmews 5, a property promising ‘quality furnishings throughout’ and, at a cost of £250 per night, obviously something special. Wrong. Bailmews 5 is a modern house at the end of the Bailhouse Hotel car park which was cold and not clean when... more

This property is centrally situated, an advantage for the sights (Cathedral and Castle), a disadvantage in view of the noise from (midweek!) stag and hen parties moving from bar to bar. Lord knows what it would be like at the weekend. In order to get a bath and shower we had to pay £149 for the room, without breakfast. This... more

We stayed for 3 nights at the Bailhouse and Mews and loved our room (with a view of cathedral spires), though I wish we'd stayed in the one that was a former medieval hall, with original woodwork . The building, while of historical interest, has a fresh feeling of being newly redesigned and includes all necessary mod cons and Internet... more

We had room two which has a massive bed at the front of the house on the first floor. Saturday night was busy and the Sunday morning bells rang out but it was great to be in the very centre of town. The place is spotless and the staff happy and helpful in all they do. Parking is easy/secure/free and... more

We stayed two nights in August paying a heroic £139 a night (excluding breakfast). We arrived at the pre-arranged time but the one member of staff on duty had "popped out" and the phone went to voicemail. We couldn't get in. The same one member of staff wasn't around the next day to organise breakfast - we fetched our own... more

With regards to this review we would like to post a response to explain where faults occured with the guest's stay. Firstly, the member of staff who should have been on duty for check in had left the building without authoirity and secondly he was also the member of staff who should have been on duty on the following morning...

We thoroughly enjoyed our three night stay during August and would highly recommend anyone wanting accommodation in Lincoln to stay at the Bailhouse and Mews. The house has been both restored, furnished and decorated to a very high standard. Our room (5) had a beautiful vaulted ceiling. Mind when coming out of the bathroom else you’ll be hitting your head... more

We stayed at the Bailhouse in June 2006, and paid £79 for a standard room - breakfast was extra. Good points - the welcome was charming, and the service good. Breakfast was beautifully cooked, as it should be for £10 a head, and the bed was really comfortable. But we felt we were paying for a lot of extras we... more
