Had a single room that resembled a cell, whilst the bathroom was more Victorian mental hospital. No hot water in room although could boil kettle for this. Very noisy at night, street noise not the hotel's fault I grant you but the noise of the lift is quite loud (my room was right opposite) and the other residents shouting at... more

Stayed in this hotel for one night on business trip to Liverpool in February 2008. The hotel room was small and bit of a disappointment, though quite reasonably priced. Breakfast included in the price was nearly non-existent to me with gluten-free diet (informed the hotel in advance). Room was ok, staff very nice in a true Liverpudlian way. I could... more

Dave from Dublin, Ireland Again I was a bit fearful of my stay here having read so many negative reviews beforehand, but I enjoyed my stay here with no problems at all. I booked it online and got a double room for 2 weekend nights for £85 a night, which had an en-suite bathroom which was huge and clean. The... more

Stupidly booked this hotel based on nice pics on website, and sensible price. Then saw all the dismal reviews, of what frankly, sounds like a doss-hole. Naturally, decided this would be a bad place to stay, Tried to cancel. They had already taken FULL PAYMENT in advance. They REFUSE refund (3 weeks notice given) "It's all in the T&C's you... more

I was impressed with the Lord Nelson as the room was £45 I didn't expect a room so nice. Couldn't complain really, it's beside the train station, the staff are helpfull and there is a nice bar/ lounge area to relax and have a drink before hitting the town. Would stay here again. more

It was a stag party trip to Liverpool so you can imagine 30 boys being let loose. For that occasion it was ideal as really you could not damage the hotel as it was in my opinion already beyond repair. It does have a 'cosy' sports bar and the staff were really friendly. The location is also fantastic but it... more

Stayed at the Lord Nelson end of January, could not fault anything. Staying in the town centre was great, no taxi's! Rooms were modern and clean. Watched football in sports bar the atmosphere was magic, residents bar was great too when we returned to the hotel. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. Great value for money. Will certainly... more

I arrived quite late in the evening after a long tiring train journey. The hotel is only just around the corner from Lime Street Station (literally a 2 mins walk!) and bang smack in the centre of the city. The check-in was very quick and the lady behind the reception desk was very friendly and welcoming. I had booked a... more

I dont understand everyones problem with this hotel, as far as im concerned you get what you pay for and considering the hotel is in the centre of liverpool and in walking distance to coach and train stations and the hotel is clean, they have got nothing to moan about! I would recommend this hotel to anyone, the staff are... more
