If you're coming from Manchester, take National Rail to Southport and then hop on Merseyrail to Blundellsands and Crosby station. Stately English home and garden with gracious hostess. Huge, full English breakfast was fantastic. Room was large, extremely comfortable with added touches and comforts, upscale, huge white and gold bathroom with emormous shower, thick, thick cosy towels. Walk couple blocks through lovely neighbourhood to train station. Great area pub. Wish we could have stayed longer. Highly recommend. more
