At long last I have found somewhere comfortable to stay in Liverpool. Karen and Kevin went out of their way to make my stay most enjoyable. We came to Liverpool on friday, and we were welcomed very nicely by Kevin in the Throstlesnest Hotel. The use of the accomodations was good, the service was good, and the room was OK. The breakfast was also very OK. So all in all, it was a very pleasant stay there. more

Make sure you get up for your breakfast. A short trip into the city centre and if you follow owners advice like we did you will have a BOSS ( I think is the correct scouse term) time. more

Dodgy location not easily discerned from side view of hotel on website. Why no front view? Maybe that woud show too much of the surrounding area- derelict building opposite, down at heel pub oneside and bookies the other. It is not a luxurious hotel, but very decent, friendly staff (Kevin provides everything he is able to, in our case he helped a lot to get some liverpool's soccer tickets). I really don't agree with some of the other reviews on this site about the Throstles Nest Hotel. We found one particular male staff very rude and unhelpful and wouldn't stay there again even if it were free. more

We went to Anfield for the Liverpool match and stopped over for 2 nights. The hotel itself is clean and tidy and the room comfortable. The breakfast in the morning is nice and we were well looked after. The location is ideal for Anfield and the town but wouldn't walk it in the dark with children. Couldn't fault the staff... more
