We booked Balham Lodge after reading Trip Advisor reviews. We were not disappointed, it lived up to expectations and it was a great base for our first week in London. This ticked the boxes for me. We needed three rooms and these were good value. The location is a little way out from the west end but was fine for our stay. Also I prefer somewhere with a bit of character and this is an attractive building in a nice area. As I recall breakfast was an OK help-yourself buffet. more

We were trying to do London on the cheap this Feburary and decided to stay at the Balham Lodge. We paid 54 pounds for a double room including breakfast which is excellent value for London.
