Despite an initial run in with a cleaner who bashed our car with a bin store gate (and didn't apologise), we found this to be a very pleasant guest house. Having a car park at all was great in London, although I understand the on street parking is at a reasonable rate. The receptionist was excellent and had moved us... More

Fabulous value, wonderful service, great rooms. The only reason we didn't score the room 5, was the bed frame was a bit damaged. This didn't affect our comfort but if it were mended it would be a 5 star. Breakfast was excellent. Full English buffet style. I would have liked fruit salad but the cooked breakfast was really good. The... More

You WILL NOT find anywhere else within 20 mins of the City at this price, nevermind the quality. I'll be coming back time and time again. Staff are eccentric, and absolutely brilliant. I'm fussy, but can't really mark it under 5 in any category - 6 for value for money.

We stayed for two nights at this B&B earlier this month and were pleasantly surprised. A beautiful house with obvious attention to detail with a stained glass front door and a warm welcome on arrival. The room we stayed in was at the front of the house so the road noise was noticeable but not too much of a drama... More

This is one of the most beautiful guest houses we have stayed in - it was built in 1889, in the Queen Anne style, as part of the Heaver Estate. It has been carefully and sympathetically restored and converted. It is also by far the best value accommodation we have found in the London area. We paid £80 per night... More

My husband and I stayed here for one night, in a double room on a Saturday night. The B&B is really good value compared to most other hotels nearby. It's in a good location, close to Balham station and Clapham is also very close by. Breakfast was good - cooked breakfast options served as a buffet which my hubby loved!... More

Great little B&B excellent value. Paid £65 for one night in a twin room. I found the room to be very clean and quiet it was right at the top of the house but I didn't find the stairs a problem. Unlike some reviewers I didn't find the room noisy either, maybe because of the location. The room was quite... More

Balham Lodge is a recently refurbished Edwardian end terrace house offering unpretentiously good value for money accommodation. Off-road parking facilities are available. Balham Tube and Overground station is a good ten minute walk away. There is no lift, so reaching our room 13 on the second floor took a bit of effort. The room was fairly basic. No rugs on... More

I'm just back from a 2 night stay at the Balham Lodge. The breakfast was nice and the staff were friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, the shower was small and lacked power. The bed was noisy and creaked with the slightest movement. Not a terrible place to stay but I'm sure there is better around. Just make sure you get a... More
