Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I've stayed at the Ridgemount Hotel many times since the late 1990's, but this was my first visit since 2009. Since my last visit, most or all of the rooms have been converted to en-suite facilities, and that made my wife happy. The rooms are still clean and comfortable, but simply furnished. For those not accustomed to staying in the center of large cities, they may feel a bit small, but they are no smaller than the rooms I've stayed in when visiting other large cities. A traditional English breakfast is served each morning in the breakfast room, and there are small changes each day to the menu (i.e. sausage instead of bacon, for example). The staff is friendly and welcoming. Coffee, tea, and hot chocolate are available at all hours from a free vending machine in the reception area. We are already planning our next trip to London, and we will certainly be staying at the Ridgemount Hotel again!

Nice warm room, very clean and the bed was very comfortable. Staff were all very welcoming and helpful, breakfast was well cooked too. The only slight disappointment was that there was no kettle in the room - I didn't fancy carrying a hot drink up three floors! Fantastic location. I will stay again if I get the chance.

The RIDGEMOUNT HOTEL stands in one of the numerous houses built by the Duke of Bedford in the end of the XVIIIth Century in Bloomsbury. Conveniently located next to the British Museum, Soho and Covent Garden, it is also within a short walking distance of St Pancras station, which makes it an ideal spot for a visit to London. If the general standard of the hotel is just the one of a traditional family run bed and breakfast it offers all modern convience (bathroom, Wifi), pefectly clean, for a very reasonable price. On top of that the traditional English Breakfast is perfect and all the stall is very profesional and friendly. For all these reasons, the Ridgemount has become my London home!

Good breakfast, served quickly by friendly and attentive staff. Room was adequate size with nice clean ensuite shower room. Very small TV mounted so you can't see it from the bed. USB sockets were usefull for phone charging. Good location for theatres. Disappointed that tea making facilities mentioned on Web site were not in room but could have got it if we asked. We were on the top (3rd, 4th if you're from USA) and enjoyed the exercise but some might find it a challenge. Very quiet for Central London.

The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Shower was small but plenty of water pressure and hot. A warm welcome and the gentleman was very helpful. No tea or coffee in rooms but free vending machine in lounge. Ideal location for the theatre and restaurant's, and shopping and tube stations

The rooms were decent sized and amenities were good. Full breakfast was appreciated, as was the complimentary tea/coffee vending machine in the lobby! The only real downsides were the mattresses were a bit stiff for my liking, and it was a bit pricey for off-season.

Small hotel very well located, metro lines nearby, different points of interest accessible on foot in about 20/30 minutes (live garden, picadilly circus, soho... The rooms are this quite small but clean and comfortable. I would recommend and will definitely be back for a stay in London

Extremely friendly and pleasant staff. I would give 6 stars for that alone. Great location, very quiet and dark room with triple glazing and curtains closed. Well appointed room, nicely lit. Good quality TV. Refurbished shower in en suite. No kettle but complimentary hot drinks in the lounge which I prefer as more energy efficient. Breakfast was traditional English with possibly the quickest service anywhere, really useful if you are in a morning rush. A most pleasant stay!

Wonderful hotel with lots of character. The staff are all very friendly and helpful which makes your stay really enjoyable. The hotel is exceptionally clean, and the beds were comfortable, so we had a good night’s sleep. A cooked breakfast is also provided which sets you up for the day ahead. The location of the hotel is perfect for visiting The British Museum, The Dickens Museum and the theatres, plus Soho and Covent Garden with the myriad of restaurants, pubs and shops. This is a most delightful area with Regents Park about 20 minutes’ walk away. We look forward to returning soon.

My stay at the Ridgemount Hotel was everything I needed. Clean, an en suite bathroom, a decent twin bed, on a very quiet street, for a good price. I ate their breakfast once and it was also great. A standard English breakfast including juice and coffee. The staff were friendly and helpful.
