We have just returned from a 2 night stay at the Connaught Hotel, in the lovely district of Mayfair, W1. At £295 plus VAT per night it isn't cheap - and my expectations were high. Unfortunately, we had problems. The room (we were in room 420) was ok, but not what I would call 5 star - it might make... more

The Connaught is the ultimate of London luxury! A beautiful small hotel that has been recently rennoed and located on a quiet Mayfair square. We had a one bedroom suite with connecting room. Very spacious for London hotel rooms and such a nice staff!!!!!! The restaurants are first class both the formal and more informal dining rooms are extremely comfertable... more

My husband always stays at the Connaught when he's in London and lucky for me my trips there sometimes coincide. I've stayed there a few times, most recently in January and each time I appreciate it more. The welcome is very warm and service excellent - they will fuss around you if you want it, but are perfectly happy not... more

I am writing this review in the middle of my 3 night stay at the connaught. So far my stay is not exceptional. The Dorchester, my regular hotel is so far winning despite my real wish to start fresh with another hotel (i come quite often to London). i will make a few pointers: 1.Gym and spa are at the... more

We've wanted to stay here for quite some time as my husband worked here (albeit a very very long time ago). So I was surprised for my birthday with an "Indulgent Weekend" package just prior to Christmas. The welcome received was genuine and although the rooms weren't ready (we arrived around 1 p.m.), we were offered coffee sitting by the... more

We first stayed at the Connaught several years ago, before the massive renovation the hotel is now finishing. We enjoyed our stay and have always talked about going back. For two nights in November 2008, we did. We’re glad we made a return trip. First, the renovation. Much of the hotel is the same with the amazing grand wooden staircase... more

I visited The Connaught Hotel 10/31/08. We were able to take advantage of the two rooms for the price of one promotion. I had an absolutely wonderful deluxe junior suite. The decor was updated yet still British. The private butler is a great idea. Everyone was friendly and professional. Food terrific. There is the feel of a brand new hotel.... more

For years I used to stay at Claridge's, but thought their new decor was too flashy/trashy, so I decided to finally try the Connaught, which is nearby in lovely Mayfair. The hotel is tucked away in one of the best neighborhoods in London and overally, my experiece at the hotel was positve. This is a very genteel place where the... more

The fabulous makeover has made sure that the Old Charm of this exceptional building has remained, and has actually been enhanced. I love the staff, I loved the room and I loved Helene Darroze for her unbeatable restaurant. Nothing is too much trouble for this hotel. A wonderful taste of pure Britishness. more
