We stayed at The Barkston Gardens, booked through Superbreaks. Although there were building works next door it did not affect us. Very friendly staff. Room serviced very well. Continental breakfast was made more enjoyable by Gus, matre `d very smart with dicky bow! Very convenient near to the tube and close to pubs and a few shops. We will go... More

I already wrote a detailed review few years ago, but it is good to update every now and then. For it's price, and considering London, this hotel is very good value for money. On the positive side, rooms are large as opposed to many london hotels where you pay to the same price. Location is very good, just a two... More

Almost everything about this old works hotel is great. 2 mins away from the Earls Court tube station and even nearer to the bus stop, this is convenience at it's best. A grand lobby with large open windows allowing enough light from the outside. A nice reading lounge beside the lobby on the way to the breakfast hall is well... More

We stayed at Barkston Gardens from December 16-23, 2011. Pros: -Clean -Very friends, efficient staff. Took care of a minor issue with the room (light bulb needed changing) quickly and without fuss. Were helpful with arranging transportation -Can’t beat the location: it is literally a block away from Earl’s Court station, between 5-20 minutes from anywhere you want to go... More

I've stayed at Barkston Gardens numerous times during the years, due to the excellent location and the spacious rooms, but my last visit (Nov 2011) left me disappointed. A hotel that sees so many guests come and go needs to be maintained well, and that doesn't seem to be the case. Rooms are now really scruffy, the floorboards creak worse... More

Somewhat dated rooms and bathrooms, but good value for the location and handy for the underground. Buses are reasonably frequent, but few go east. The new lift is a good addition to the hotel from when I stayed there many years ago. Reception desk service was efficient. Secure room to store bags after checking out (to be collected later in... This was all about location for us and that is exactly what it provided. Very close to the tube and also walking distance from many attractions. Our room overlooked the park which was nice and both the room and bathroom were very large.Once out of the lobby the hotel felt a lot like a youth hostel. The staff were friendly... More

Needed somewhere close to Earls Court Arena and then underground for early morning travel to Heathrow - this place fitted the bill. Expectations weren't too high, as London is expensive, so always need to take that into consideration. But, was pleasantly surprised by the size of the room - and bathroom was massive. Yes, definitely looks tired, but have seen... More

I am just back from staying here for 3 nights. I booked a twin room which is what I got. The rooms are very spacious and have everything you need for your stay. The staff are very helpfull and welcoming. Before I arrived I had received a letter to say the hotel was undergoing refurbishment and if I wanted to... More
