Just stayed in the Travel Lodge for 1 night and it was 1 night too much. I checked the previous reviews and can confirm that there are 2 buildings to this Travel Lodge. The old building was previously the Drury Lane Moat House Hotel. Since being purchased by Travel Lodge no investment has been completed in this hotel. (just read... more

We stay here every year for an annual trip to the West End. We book early and get it cheap. This year we paid £45.00 a night for the room. I recommend booking into the second building (beside the Shaftesbury Theatre), its the better of the 2 i think. No frills, but I have always found it clean and convenient.... more

Location excellent, but even for the cheap price the hotel was shockingly poor. Run-down, dirty and very very cold. Room was very small, tiles in bathroom broken and dirty. Went out for evening, returned to have a drink at the bar. Had to wear coat and scarf in bar as so cold - no-one seemed to care, complaint went unoticed,... more

This was a shocker...and I have never complained about a hotel before. The room was cold and damp. Corridors smelt of chemicals and again, smelt horribly of damp. No loo roll, no soap, no toiletries ("this is a BUDGET hotel you know!!") no bath mat, only one towel. Plastic cups and no glasses ("health and safety issue madam"), hairdryer broken... more

stayed 4 times in jan 2010 on various occasions, in summary the location is good, after that its very patchy first time the room was cold and stank of damp and heating didnt work with furniture like student digs, second time pretty similar, third time room was ok but a disabled room where there was a smell of urine and... more

Wasn't expecting much after reading the reviews, but we were allocated rooms in the 2nd (newly renevated?) building. It was sparse but clean. The bed was comfy and the shower worked, and that's all I worry about in rooms. I was a little disappointed they could not give us our room cards earlier (one of the 3 couples booked an... more

Arrived Saturday afternoon and found the Travelodge on Drury Lane very easily, 10 mins walk from Covent Garden tube station. We were given the keys to room 107 and were amazed when we opend the door. It was like a converted broom cupboard! The double bed had 15 inches at each side and about 12 inches at the bottom plus... more

I had the experience of staying in this hotel for 1 night on business. The public areas of the hotel were more akin to a 2nd rate hostel rather than a brand name hotel chain, charging £98 a night. This tatty appearance continued when I made it to my room (221), where the dark decorations and battered 60s style furnishings... more

My wife and I have just returned from a Sunday night at the High Holborn Travelodge (Saver Room for £12 ) having been prepared for the 'Travelodge from Hell' having read and noted some of the earlier reviews on Tripadvisor. We checked into the High Holborn Travelodge as opposed to the Drury Lane building having read that this was the... more

We are used to Travelodge rooms, new buildings, purpose built rooms, comfortable, clean and functional..no frills! BUT...our room was none of those....very poor state of repair, dirty, broken tiles etc...Ridiculously warm and very poor quality linen. We didn't bother complaining and we literally only "slept" in the room and for only 1 night! When I say slept, I mean listened... more
