Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Crystal Davies in Guest Services helped make our whirlwind London weekend an enormous success. She is exceptional and helpful. The stay was wonderful! Highly recommend. The hotel accommodated our early morning arrival and allowed us to freshen up and sleep after a very long travel day. I am very grateful to have had Crystal and such an accommodation.

We got in early from overseas and they allowed us to check in early to get some rest, so appreciated that! Had a few maintenance issues in my room but they quickly and efficiently resolved them. Crystal was a huge asset, she helped us find fun things to do and well planned ways to get there. We were very comfortable and had a great time. The breakfast buffet was fantastic, recommend pre paying for it to save some money.

Stayed two nights for a recent business trip. As a platinum member I appreciated the quick confirmation of a late checkout. And was able to get into my room around noon on day of arrival. Lobby area isn’t much to write home about, but bar/restaurant is pretty nice with a solid breakfast buffet. Rooms are fine, could use a bit of an update but overall no major complaints

A very tired Marriott in a good location. Close to Oxford Street. In a mini Arab area with Arab men all smoking their pipes on the street. A block back from this it is quite different. The hotel itself seems more set up for corporate use. Most travellers would complain as it needs a full refit. Heaters not working Plus randoms or the street eating from the buffet - literally standing at the buffet shoving food in so they didn't get caught. Not very hygenic. Staff were lovely on the front desk.

I recently stayed at the Marriott Hotel Marble Arch in London and was deeply dissatisfied with my experience. The hotel, which I had expected to uphold the Marriott brand's reputation for quality and service, fell short in multiple areas. Firstly, the hotel's overall condition was a major letdown. The premises, including my room, felt extremely outdated and not at all reflective of the standard one expects from Marriott. The room's decor and amenities were reminiscent of a two-star hotel, lacking the modernity and comfort one anticipates in such an establishment. The inadequacy of the heating system in the room was particularly troublesome, especially given London's chilly weather. The hotel's solution, a stand-alone heater, was insufficient and gave a sense of a makeshift arrangement rather than a professional hospitality service. However, the most disappointing aspect was the staff's attitude and service. There was a noticeable lack of etiquette and professionalism, which significantly impacted the overall experience of my stay. As a frequent traveler and a patron of Marriott hotels worldwide, I was surprised by the staff's unaccommodating nature, especially regarding luggage storage. Their refusal to store my four bags for three days, despite my prior stays and without a subsequent booking, was unexpected and inconvenient. This is not a policy I've encountered at other Marriott hotels globally. In summary, my stay at the Marriott Hotel Marble Arch was far from satisfactory. It pains me to say that this hotel is a blemish on the Marriott brand. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this hotel, even if the stay were complimentary. Marriott should seriously consider refurbishing this property and retraining the staff to meet the standards that loyal customers like myself have come to expect from their hotels.

"I recently had the pleasure of staying at this wonderful establishment, and I couldn't be more pleased with my experience. The location, just a stone's throw away from Hyde Park Winter Wonderland, made my stay both convenient and enchanting. The addition of complimentary gifts added a touch of class to the overall experience. Highly recommend for a delightful stay in a prime location!"

Everything was fine, the splendor of the hotel, the cleanliness of the rooms, the beauty of the rooms, especially the loft, enjoying the wonderful London nights, the skill of the entire staff, special thanks to the reception staff, and the location of the hotel is really very good. And yes, when I have the opportunity, I will come back again.

I traveled to London for work and stayed at this hotel for 4 nights. How on earth this is a 4-star hotel is beyond me. This place is pitiful, barely worth 2 stars. Here is a list of all my complaints: 1. The location is terrible - kind of seedy area, and a bit of a walk to all the subway/underground stops 2. The rooms are old and dated, and do not seem clean. My carpet had stains on it. The bathroom doesn't seem clean. 3. The bath is one of those weird ones that you have to step up into. And when you’re showering, the shower curtain billows in on you (no magnets to hold it to the tub) AND the shower faucet leaks all over the place. If the shower curtain isn’t billowing in on you, then the water is spraying all over the bathroom floor. 4. The bathroom fan does not shut off. There is no button for it. So I have to close the door to the bathroom otherwise it keeps you up all night. 5. The heater doesn't work intermittently. Asked someone to come look at it and it took over an hour for someone to show up. By the time they arrived it had fixed itself. Also it’s loud when it is on. 6. The idiot who checked me in didn't set up the keys properly so I went all the way to the room with my baggage and then had to trek back to the front desk to get them fixed (the elevators take forever, there are only two... another issue). 7. One of the water bottles in my room when I arrived had the seal broken already. Gross. 8. No outlets near the bed, so can't charge phone near the bed overnight. 9. The staff when you call “at your service” is generally unfriendly and no one seems to know what’s going on. 10. Oh this is so random - my pencil case went missing. It's a cheap pencil case and didn't have any expensive pens in it. But someone clearly took it for some reason?!?! Maybe they thought it was a cute case? I have no idea. But when I told the front desk they said that would never happen and didn’t even look into it (or check in the lost and found). 11. I didn’t have washcloths in the bathroom the first 2 days. They finally showed up on the third day. 12. The room phone is crappy, the volume is very low and half the time you pick it up there is no dial tone and you have to put it down and pick it up again for it to work. 13. Not very soundproof, you can hear people out in the hall talking or going in and out of rooms. 14. I had to check out a night early and they wouldn’t give me a refund. I seriously don’t know how this is a 4-star hotel. I have had multiple poor Marriott experiences lately and I am starting to get sick of the brand, which used to be my go-to. I will say I stayed in a 5-star Marriott in London (Hyde Park) a few months ago and it was great, so I thought a 4-star would be good enough. But I would NEVER stay here again. I plan on coming back to London with my family next year and will be staying FAR FAR away from this dumpster fire. The pros: 1. The hot water kettle works 2. They let me borrow a plug converter (my chargers are from the US)

Hotels in London are super expensive! This one is more reasonable price-wise and yet not far from the city centre. We walked many times between Paddington train station and the hotel due to trips to Windsor and another city. They offer Bonvoy Platinum elite members free breakfast, drinks and snacks at the restaurant, which was very nice. Food and drinks were all excellent. We had issues with the bath room during our first 3-night stay. The tap faced directly to the users so you can only turn the tap a little or you get your shirt wet. We reported this to the desk when we checked out. We got a bigger room two days later for our second 3-night stay. Most importantly, the tap in the bathroom was installed correctly (the sink might also be deeper) even the bathroom had the same size. We did not have any issue with the tap, but the bath tub was clogged in the first morning - we did not bother to call anyone; just left it to the house keeper - no issue for the next two days. People there are all nice. Just hope the hotel can hire at least one local people at the concierge who knows the city better. They relied on Google to offer me tips. So I stopped asking them after the first day (I can Google, but wish to confirm certain things with human sometimes).
