I've never really had an outstanding London hotel experience. This hotel, yes, great location for the tubes. BUT, it's a loud neighborhood with all hotels around so you hear everything. Since there's no AC, you have to have the window open. The lobby is nice, the rooms are typical British rooms, small, stuffy and a tad shabby. The staff is... more

The reception area, bar and lounge look smart but our room was shabby if clean. The room was tiny and of the little floor space some was taken up by a mini fridge that did not work. The TV remote did not work either - even after I found the second battery that had fallen out (because the back of... more

The hotel was in a perfect location and looked great from the outside. The receptionist checked our booking and gave us our room number, however he did not know where the room was and had to ask a manager! That should have set off warning bells. We were treated like second class citizens and given a room almost underground. There... more

The staff were rude and not helpful. We had cockroaches in our room. Our room was situated in the dirty basement. Worst hotel I've ever stayed in. more

We booked the hotel over the net for GBP60 per room per night without breakfast, I thought the room will be a tiny one like all London hotels, putting into account also the rate butfor my surprise the room was quite big which was unexpected, the bathroom was basic a bit old but clean. The service was excellent we arrived... more

As with the other reviewers I would rate the location of this hotel is very convenient; close to two tube stations - Bayswater ans Queensway. Queensway is closer but there are good tube connections from Bayswater e.g. to Paddington. You may need to use Paddinton station as there is no luggage storage facility in the hotel (for check-in or check-out)... more

After four different rooms we left for a different hotel after one night there. First floor room with no locking window and smoke break area outside window. 2nd room had jackhammer working in room above and no towels, 3rd room w/jackhammer next door (litterally) with torn up carpet and drywall in hallways. 4th room had only one set of towels... more

Great proximity to 2 tube stations and Hyde park. Room was very small, furniture and bedcovers were very old. However the room was cleaned every day. Male staff at reception were friendly and helpful. We felt the young female staff on reception in the evening were bored, un-helpful and laughing at the guests. They said they would send someone to... more

Our room on the 7th floor was bright, spotlessly clean and roomy enough to feel at home for 7 nights. The lobby, bar and breakfast room were also impecable and the staff were pleasant and helpful, particularly the "Bar" girls. The location was excellent, right across from Kensington Gardens and Palace, Hyde Park, really close to bus and tube transporation,... more
