Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

In spite of the fact that the hotel is in a very convenient location, this has been a disappointing stay. We booked an executive room. There is no closet, just an open small hanging area, and no where to put our clothes. No drawers of any kind. We were reduced to just piling our clothes around the room on the floor. One small desk chair and no where else to sit but on the bed. Very few places to charge our devices. Dim and confusing lighting. The hotel hallways are also dimly lit. Considering what the room cost, I would have expected at least another chair, and somewhere to put my clothes. I doubt that we would stay here again.

The customer service here is absolutely exceptional. I was impressed with multiple teams members during my current stay. The Manager, Roberto, answered all questions I had for him, and was very friendly. His customer service skills were much appreciated (especially early in the morning when breakfast was beginning). Thanks Roberto! The Bartender, Daniel, has been nothing but a pleasure every time I’m at the bar. He’s great at making cocktails and understanding the preference of the customer after 1-2 visits to the bar. Daniel has some of the best customer service I’ve experienced and I work in hospitality (so I’ve seen some great customer service in my time). He makes his regulars feel like they have a friend and confidant. Thanks Daniel! The other Bartender, Joy, was attentive and quick with service. He has a bright presence that makes us customers want to keep coming back! Thanks Joy for the experience!

Wanted to provide feedback on my stay at this venue for last 3 nights 1. Overall service was very poor - request to put a birthday cake and champagne + glasses to celebrate my wife’s birthday was missed. When I requested explanation I was told the person dealing with my request was on leave and hence cake could not be met. Absolute disaster. Request to get champagne glasses was also delivered after 45mins. 2. Room was spacious and clean - overall it was good room with enough space and beds for family of 3. 3. Cleaning the room everyday was completed on time but the toiletries were not replaced everyday. Also the bath robe and sleepers were only available for 2 people when there were 3 adults in the room. 4. In room dining service was prompt and food was pretty decent. So no complaints there. 5. Breakfast was not great - very limited and cramped. Hotel location was also far from what we expected - we thought it would be close to Kensington garden but it was far away. So in all I wouldn’t want to stay at this place again. Having experinced a great service at other Marriott - it was let down.

Rooms: Overall nice, would say that this is typical UK style hotel with the washroom separate. Service: Clear distinction that some of the staff is very talented and really trying to live up to the Marriott name. There are some staff that I would say need to be re-trained here. Location: It's great, and very accessible to some local areas and very quick taxi to Harrods. Very quiet and safe, clean area. Two very helpful people during my stay: 1. Kai - Front Desk 2. Anthony - Concierge So, I would say that checking in was smooth. Team was quick to action the check-in process, but very lacking in the explaination of what is going on. The hotel is a bit divided up due to the layout: Some rooms, you need to access by stairs, no elevator Some rooms, are elevator access. I'm a lifetime Marriott member, and when I first checked in, I would say I was highly disappointed about how being a member, seemed to not matter whatsoever. A very calm, and collected gentleman, Kai was extremely helpful in trying his best to really explain a bit more and in a way, calm me down. Kai I feel didn't have the proper support of the management team and was not able to fully answer my questions. First day, was disappointed and a bit of a "let down". Second day, the situation seemed to get a bit worse, as things were still not fixed and Kai was not supported to go ahead with trying to improve my stay and help me change rooms, again very disappointed but then Kai was able to correct this and essential membership benefits finally showed up. I really appreciate Kai and I did explain to him that I have stayed at over 50+ Marriott hotels across USA / EU / ASIA, and this was by far the worst customer service I have had and I know it is a poor management team not supporting their staff, it is very obvious. The next day, our bags we moved and when I returned to the new room, my bag was somehow damaged...long story short a gentleman named Anthony, was the most helpful person at this location so far. He was prompt, direct and clear of how this would get fix and he delivered it. I really appreciate the effort from both Kai & Anthony and I feel like their management team really needs to support and elevate their staff that can perform like these two individuals to help make this a Marriott Hotel worthy of the franchise name. I'm thankful that essentially all issues were resolved in a timely manner and I feel like the customer service can be improved here overall.

Great location. Big, clean and modern rooms for London standards. Helpful staff. Best Bonvoy Access lounge I've been to. Will stay there again next time in London. Take a walk off the beaten path and enjoy the beautiful homes, parks and cool local pubs.

There is a sense of belonging when you go to a Marriott and London Marriott Kensington gives you that feeling. There is nothing special about this hotel in the sense that it gives you all you expect in a Marriott - Good clean rooms, safe corridors, convenient location, great breakfast, nice hospitality, a good concierge desk and what not! Must mention the two gentlemen at concierge desk (I think one was Alex) , who helped me plan my 3 days off throughout London, they told me when not to take the hop on hop off as there were those protests going on, so thank you so much! It might not be that convenient if you always want to roam around in central London, but its good if you are coming from or going through Heathrow.

The biggest thank you to Ash - Guest Services Supervisor, he was beyond helpful in accommodating my requests during my stay even when the front of house reception team had a lack of knowledge on the hotels policy for certain procedures. As a frequent business traveller using Marriott often, I am well versed in the standards applied company wide and believe hotel staff should be consistent from one outlet to the next - Ash maintained this where others failed, he is a credit to the team. Another special mention to Isabel (forgive me if the spelling is wrong) an asset to the reception team and the only team member who seemed to give a personal approach to her front of house role. Being honest, the rest of the reception team over my 6 night stay were robotic and unhelpful. The lounge facilities here are not to the usual UK standard of a Marriott property // at a very minimum the fridges should be well stocked and during hours of the lounge not being manned, when snacks were put out, they were left with empty plates and serving apparatus for hours on end before being cleared or replenished.

The Marriott Hotel in Kensington again provided comfortable venue for our midweek business meeting and overnight stay. The hotel rooms are contemporary and comfortable so a good night sleep is easy to achieve. The desk space in the hotel room was also user friendly so it was easy to get work done either side of our business meeting. The facilities and refreshments for the syndicate rooms are also very good and help set the scene for productive meetings.
