I actually think this hostel could have been good, my friends and I might have just had a bad run-in. We reserved a 4-person room well in advance through Studentuniverse.com (we've never had problems with this method before), but when we got there, we were told there was a mistake with our booking and would have to be in a... more

As I arrived a half an hour before, I was requested to come back after another half. The surprise was that my booking contained, as the manager explained me, an error and they requested me to pay more than the amount specified in my booking form. It appeared to be an error at the time when I've made my booking,... more

This last february my husband and I travelled through Europe. Of course in London we could only expect a lower quality room for the same price we payed elsewhere, so it was the only city (together with Paris) where we had to settle for a different thing (for example, a shared bathroom). Being 30 years old and not in a... more

I stayed here for 6 nights as a solo traveler in one of their 4-bed female-only rooms (which I highly recommend). I was on the 4th floor, and the stairs were very steep to get to it - if I'd had a larger suitcase, I don't think I could have made it to the top. The bathrooms on my floor... more

This hotel was nothing but problems. Despite the location, the rooms were filthy and the bathrooms needed a good scrub. The kitchen was tiny, you barely had room to move around and there were never enough tables & chairs. To make things worse - the security was lacking. Quite a few of our personal items were stolen from our room.... more

Astor had huge bedrooms, a kitchen that you use to cook, a frig to store food, a free, excellent breakfast, and a very friendly staff. The bathrooms were ok. It was right behind the British Museum, and was close to several grocery stores and tubes. A very good value. more

The hostel itself is pretty decent. The staff are friendly and knowledgable and there is also a tv room with a wide selection of movies available until very late. The hostel is about a 5 minute walk from a metro station. My only problem with it at all is that the walls are thin, so bring earplugs if you're a... more

I am from RIO DE JANEIRO, Brazil and I am surprised in seeing bad comments about Astors. I stayed there for more than one week and it was really a nice stay. The place of the hostel dont need comments - opposite the British Museum. The staff is nice and the place is clean, with coking facilities and and I... more

I booked Museum Inn as i was having a night out and looking for nothing more than a cheap, clean bed for the night. As such it's fine. The location can't be beat, it's right by the British Museum so great for nights in Soho or the west end. Yes this place is tired and shabby but you won't find... more

The location can't be beat, and the staff is friendly, helpful and entertaining. The rooms are clean, as are the bathrooms (the showers were a bit gross, though - bring shower shoes), and overall its a pretty nice hostel. However, for the price, its a little too hostel-y. We expected a more hotel-like atmosphere, which is not at all what... more
