Staff were friendly and helpful (especially with my ridiculous amounts of luggage). The rooms were clean and comfy and it's right near the tube so easy access to all the sights. Would stay there again! more

Nice Staff. Big breakfast included. Rooms are large and spacious (at least in 10 bed mixed dorm). Good location: right beside the British Museum; supermarket and underground nearby; within walkable distance to Leicester Square/ Convent Garden....The neighborhood is safe and quiet also. ISIC cardholders are applicable to a 10% off discount . But, the kitchen is a bit small with... more

Stayed there for 4 nights and had a blast. Within walking distance of the tube, right around from the British Museum, and many nice restaurants, souvenir stands, and pubs. Easy to get around town from here. I was able to hit all of the priority sites and have a nice quiet neighborhood to retreat to after a full day of... more

I stayed in a private 2 bed room with my sister on this trip. The staff during our stay was excellent and very helpful. We each got a free 40 minute internet card with 2 computers available to use. We had to stay in the separate building a few blocks away. Our bathroom was down a flight of stairs and... more

I actually think this hostel could have been good, my friends and I might have just had a bad run-in. We reserved a 4-person room well in advance through Studentuniverse.com (we've never had problems with this method before), but when we got there, we were told there was a mistake with our booking and would have to be in a... more

As I arrived a half an hour before, I was requested to come back after another half. The surprise was that my booking contained, as the manager explained me, an error and they requested me to pay more than the amount specified in my booking form. It appeared to be an error at the time when I've made my booking,... more

This last february my husband and I travelled through Europe. Of course in London we could only expect a lower quality room for the same price we payed elsewhere, so it was the only city (together with Paris) where we had to settle for a different thing (for example, a shared bathroom). Being 30 years old and not in a... more

I stayed here for 6 nights as a solo traveler in one of their 4-bed female-only rooms (which I highly recommend). I was on the 4th floor, and the stairs were very steep to get to it - if I'd had a larger suitcase, I don't think I could have made it to the top. The bathrooms on my floor... more

This hotel was nothing but problems. Despite the location, the rooms were filthy and the bathrooms needed a good scrub. The kitchen was tiny, you barely had room to move around and there were never enough tables & chairs. To make things worse - the security was lacking. Quite a few of our personal items were stolen from our room.... more

Astor had huge bedrooms, a kitchen that you use to cook, a frig to store food, a free, excellent breakfast, and a very friendly staff. The bathrooms were ok. It was right behind the British Museum, and was close to several grocery stores and tubes. A very good value. more
