Hi all, i went on a trip to London with my local college for 2 days, to learn more about the travel industry and we had to stay at the YHA London Thameside Youth Hostel, it wasn't the best of places to stay but at least we had a roof over our head, in the room that i shared with... more

Right. Nyrre, here’s the story. We went on a school trip to Paris and London. We thought the Paris hotel was bad, until we got to YHA London Thameside. We were told that there may be some mentally ill people roaming the corridors, and not to leave our rooms. The lift was broken and we had to haul our bags... more

A bit worn but fairly clean but could be cleaner. Had a 6 bed dorm – not cramped. Breakfast was fantastic, shower pressure good, TV room bad, kitchen was a bit bare, 10 minute walk from Canada Waters Tube (other tube under reconstruction) & shopping centre, bus at door. more

The Rotherhithe (as it was called) was my first hostelling experience and I couldn't have asked for a better one! Expecting to walk into a long room with 10 beds lined up in rows, I found the rooms to be cozy and it didn't feel like there were 9 other beds there. There were two bathrooms in the room and... more

I`ve stayed here twice, and will probably stay here again. The staff is friendly and helpful(although I miss a smile from the breakfast staff), rooms are big enough, it`s clean, tv-room, bar, ok food, coca-cola automat and it`s cheap. Not too close to the city, but it`s located in a quiet area (still in London though). 7min. walk from tube-station,... more

Just returned from having stayed here for the weekend with my Dad and niece and nephew (9 and 6). Extremely convenient for Greenwich and the Tower of London. I was surprised by how nice the area is, and it's certainly a pleasant change from the hussle of the city centre. It wasn't the quietest night sleep I've ever had, as... more

I visited the Rotherhithe Youth Hostel in July of 2003. My first impressions were that it was clean and spacious. However, when we arrived at our room, it took us a full ten minutes before we managed to get the door open. Then, as we were set to go to the theatre that night, we found there was not enough... more
