My room at the Thanet had obviously been a large closet at some time in the past. The room number, 5a, should have been a give-away. A very disappointing experience given some of the other reviews of this hotel. I booked through late rooms and paid 90 GBP which gets you a decent, clean if rather soulless room in a chain hotel in central London. Thanet is a no-frills hotel in Bloomsbury, next to the British Museum and to the Holborn and Russell Square tube stations. It's a great place to stay if you're looking for a quiet room to sleep and nothing more than this. We only stayed one night but we found the owners and staff very friendly and friendly. Very clean and comfortable room and good full breakfast. Is in a quiet area of Bloomsbury and is near to British Museum and theatres. We will be back to visit again. more
