Just back from London, stayed at the Thanet for 3 nights, stayed in room for 5 people in basement. As it was all family we wanted a room for 5,this is hard to find in most hotels but we found a great one, the room is plenty big for 5 adults there is 3 single beds and 1 double, the... More

If you are looking for a Hotel that offers value for money, look no further. The Location is First Class, rooms spotless,Breakfast choices A1 and all Staff/Proprietors could not be more helpful. We are regular visitors to the UK and so glad we found this little gem. It is so hard to find a clean, affordable and friendly place to stay, and at last we did. We caught the tube from Heathrow to Russell Sq - Piccadilly line with no stops. you turn left cross Southampton road, walk through Russell Square park... More

This hotel is a little gem. The building is beautiful, the atmosphere welcoming and the breakfasts first-rate. Richard and Lynwen are lovely people and run the Thanet with the utmost attention to detail combined with charm and helpfulness. Their "right hand man" Albert is another Bloomsbury gem, providing a courteous, friendly and most efficient reception service. I rate this hotel... More

Good location, near the British Museum. Rooms would need some new carpets and furniture, and the cold air is coming in through the "guillotine" window.... (luckily the thick curtains are a good isolation...) But the room and the bathroom are very clean, the bathroom is new and well done, the beds are good and the sheets and towels are of... More

I had booked a single room and my room was indeed only suitable for a single traveller - it looked as if it might have been a maid's room as it had a petite fire grate and had had a very compact shower room built in. However all the fittings were of good quality and I liked the garden view... More

I stay here whenever I can get to London. It's not glamorous exactly, but always pleasant and comfortable. More

Three of us had the room at the top of the very narrow stairs but..... great value for money - the floor boards creaked like crazy but that added to the charm. Staff were very helpful and great breakfast selection. The only down side - it does need a bit of a makeover some parts quite shabby but definitely value... More

Had a fabulous long weekend at the Thanet. It has family rooms for a family of 5 and the owners were wonderful in leaving Champagne for us after finding out my husband had recently returned from working abroad. The hotel was in walking distance of everywhere we wanted to go that weekend - a bonus as I hate the tube.... More

Was stuck for a room and ended up with this hotel. Its just not that good. The rooms needs doing up and the sheets overly worn and faintly grubby. Breakfast was fine and the people running it nice. More
