This was my second stay at Sanctuary House. On both occasions the room (standard double) was reasonably sized, comfortable and clean, with kettle, TV and bathroom in good working order. No view to speak of (tall building across a narrow street), but then this is central London. The hotel looks well maintained and has a professional but comfortable feeling. The... more

Was just reading these other reviews and these people are crazy. I have never had such a nice experience as I had at this hotel - and I travel quite often on business. The staff at the hotel very cheerfully gave me directions, printed me maps to places, called amex and blackberry for me when I was having technical difficulties... more

Have stayed three times at the Sanctuary House this year - I found it clean, comfortable and quiet (apart from a slightly creaky floor above). My continental breakfasts were fine, but my only experience of an evening meal in the pub was very disappointing and won't be repeated. There are plenty of places to eat within five minutes walk. From... more

I must admit that my expectations were high after reading the other reviews. I believe this hotel is good value for your money and has its pros and cons. Pros: Location, location, location... Rooms are clean and has all one needs Classic London architecture Friendly Staff Cons: Old building so really noisy...just hope you will not have someone noisy next... more

During the last few months we have stayed in London 3 times. Sanctuary House Hotel was the most expensive of the 3 - it was supposed to be a special occasion. This has got to be the worst hotel I have ever, ever stayed in. The only saving grace was the deputy manageress who was extremely professional. Definitely wasted at... more

My husband and I took our 18 month old daughter and my mother to London for a 10 day holiday in August of 2007. First let me say that as an American naturally things are quite different in England, although I studied at U of London for school. London is a second home to me and I have a distinct... more

A bag of my clothes, including an expensive top, was accidentally thrown in the bin by a cleaner while I was there. The hotel has made a half-hearted , disorganised attempt to sort this out, and a month letter I'm without neither clothes nor reasonable compensation. Great location and rooms were clean and mostly comfortable, if rather more 'hotel chain'... more

I stayed six nights at the Sanctuary House Hotel with my ten-year-old son, and it was perfect. It is very well-located, as others have noted, right down the block from the St. James Park tube station in one direction and Westminster Abbey in the other. Victoria Station is also nearby, about a ten-minute walk. The bedroom and bath were perfectly... more

I booked a room for two nights at the Sanctuary House due to recommendations on tripadvisor. The hotel is two minutes from the tube station and walking distance to Westminster, the London Eye and Buckingham Palace etc..The room was lovely, and all the staff were extremely pleasant. I would stay there again definitely. more

My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights in January. It was WAY beyond our expectations. We got an awesome deal through kayak.com and spent around 100 night. The inn was gorgeous! Literally one block to Westminster Abby and another block to the Tower of London. 10 minutes to a tube station too. I would stay here again in... more
