Large well presented room with small kitchenette area. Well worth the money for a London hotel which is in a great location for tube stations and British Museum. Helpful staff and good breakfast. Rooms at the front can be noisy during the day but quiet later in the evening.

Our third vsit to the Portland proved to be equally satisfying. Spacious, clean and well furnished 3rd floor room was more than adequate for our long weekend in London. A block away from Russel Square Tube stop, which is directly on the central line that runs from Heathrow Airport. excellent very large room with mini kitchen,. reception staff friendly and helpfull, evening meal £20 but breakfast £25 per person a bit too expensive. the gardens at the end of the road have an excellent cafe open from 7am that do a very good breakfast at a much more sensible price

Had a room at the back of the hotel overlooking the garden, which was very nice. The room itself was very large, with a desk and chair, 2 other chairs and an occasional table and a sofa with a coffee table - so it felt really well appointed. The decor is traditional but this seems to add to the charm.... More
