First off, we weren't expecting the world, it was somewhere cheap to stay the night whilst out with friends, basically somewhere to sleep after a day out in London. Our stay quickly became a bad joke none of us will ever forget. We booked our own 8 person dorm and due to a few drop outs we only had 5... more

We stayed in this hotel for two nights in November. First of all- be warned, there is a huge hotel opposite that is being renovated which we weren't told about upon booking. Obviously, this is very loud. Walking into the hotel- it is disgustingly tacky. Wainted yellow with multi colour advertising, it is quite gross. The cheap red ikea sofa's... more

We stay in Smart Hyde park inn hostel for 3 nights and it was ok. Price was low, the rooms are tiny but sheets are clean, water was hot, toilets clean, and that is what counts. People we met there were nice, staff was nice, breakfast was ok (cornflakes, coffee, tea, traditional toast with butter and marmelade), kitchen was clean. I... more

Stayed in an 18-bed dorm for one night here. The location is excellent, right near some stations, with a Tesco nearby and pretty cheap Internet cafes. The room itself was a bit like a prison cell - tiny, cramped, dim light, and the bunks were stacked three high (instead of the usual two), which made for quite a climb up... more

I was just reading through the reviews of the hostel, and remembered my stay back in 2007 and thought it was time to leave a review as well. Back then the website still looked different and I was looking forward to stay in a nice hostel with friends. I was even more suprised when the hostel looked nothing like on... more

It was very dirty and smelled. It had poor security, and half of the lockers didn't even lock correctly. My bed comforter was so gross i couldn't even put it on my bed, and my pillow smelled and had large yellow stains on it. Showers were horrible because there was only one shower for like a whole floor of people.... more

I stayed with 7 people at this hostel, and we all decided that it was ok, but not great. Our biggest problem was with the washrooms. The showers were SUPER HOT and nothing else so showering was very unpleasant. If you were up by about 8am though, it was easy to get a shower. Your clothing would get wet if... more

Great location! One block from Hyde Park and Bayswater underground station. On a quiet street in a historic building in central London. Near many restaurants, post office and Whitley's which has an internet cafe. Friendly Aussie at check-in and nice lobby. Good security with key cards for each room. Only drawbacks were the low water-pressure, lumpy pillows, and the $20... more

Me and my friend stayed in the Hyde Park Inn in early January this year. We were travelling cheaply and weren't expecting great accomodation but even we were disappointed - you definitely only get what you pay for (barely that) in this cheap hostel. The rooms were tiny and the whole place was dirty - even the beds sheets didn't... more
