Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A few years ago, this was a great hotel. But, someone has decided to cut corners on ventilation and service. Rooms no longer have functional air conditioning and windows are sealed so temp is hot...28 degrees or so. And the carpets look clean but stink at this temperature. In addition, no service on multi-day stays even when requested. I think they lack maids as the one I saw was sweating g and tired due to the rooms issue.

Standard Travelodge, with the usual tired appearance, basic facilities but great for train-spotters, but for the rest of us the railway line right outside the window is just a disturbance throughout the night!

I have been to London many times, always Gig or Exhibition related. Problem's have always been in actually getting to the heart of the journey in order to get from A to B. Changing Underground Routes or Buses, but this time it was perfect. Travelodge at Vauxhall is the perfect base to a World Of Discovery, and Anna is the perfect person to greet you, after a long journey. 20 Second's Walk you have the Under and Overground Rail, you have a Universal Bus Station, you have Sainsbury's and Waitrose, you have a Viaduct converted into an amazing Eatery, full of World Foods.

Arrived at 6pm after flight from Spain for a couple of nights before heading home. Waited over 25 mins at reception for someone that was capable to check us in. Following day change of towels etc not done even though notification was put out on the door that morning. Had to ask for towels and wait for them ourselves. Noise from local nightclub throughout the night is audible. Not the best night I have had in a travel lodge.

Nice room in the first floor (no possibility to open the window though) , decent breakfast, next to metro, nice neighbourhood. The bad thing is that the cleaning service didn’t come. I mentioned to the reception and I took the towels I needed!

The room is airtight with absolutely no fresh air due to there being a glass unit which has recently replaced the open window. The air con was extremely poor and noisy. Room smelt fusty and bathroom smelt damp., the window was full of condensation when we were occupying the room. The worst Travelodge room we have ever been in.

Booked this as visiting the American Embassy which is only a short walk away. Easy to find, very close to Vauxhall tube & overland train stations. Sainsbury's local, small waitrose & Starbucks very nearby. On check in there was only one receptionist dealing with customers despite people waiting & other staff milling about in the background, & she was miserable as sin, no eye contact or customer service, it was like we were an inconvenience being there. We were given twin room number 7. There are 8 rooms tucked away on the ground floor, randomly accessed through (behind) the restaurant. The room was tiny, like a cupboard, with no natural light as the view from the window was a concrete wall (presumably that of the tube tunnel if the constant noise of rumbling from tube trains was anything to go by). There was no hairdryer in the room (got one from reception when i asked) & the TV on the wall was TINY. The shower was hot & powerful but this meant the shower curtain was ineffective & the bathroom floor was flooded after a short shower. Positive things were the beds were comfy & the air conditioning was good to cool down the oppressive box we were in. The hotel was fully booked so no chance of moving. On balance for what we paid & what we got it wasn't really value for money, & I would definitely stick to my preference for Premier inn over travelodge next time. But for the Embassy it was easy walking distance.

Stayed here Tuesday 5th March. It's a nice clean hotel in a great location but was extremely disappointed to be told by reception that, if we wanted to enter the room at 1.30pm (when we arrived) we had to pay an extra ten pounds! Or we could just sit and wait until 3pm and not pay the extra tariff. During Covid there was a good reason for rooms to not be ready until 3pm due to deep-cleaning. However, now Travelodge has decided to just use the legacy of Covid for profiteering. The room was fully ready (as evidenced by us having to pay the charge and we got immediate access to the room). So why are we having to pay £10 to enter the room 1.5 hours before 3pm? Guests have to check out by noon. So we are actually only getting 21 hours stay in the hotel? Unfortunately we had a meal booked so needed to pay to get the room so we could get ready. But, we will actively avoid Travelodge in the future. I presume it allows them to employ less staff and therefore make even more money. Despicable working practices. That was the only thing that marred an otherwise nice stay.
