Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The bathroom was a state. Lino peeling off the floor. The shower was covered in chips on the paint. The shower curtain stank of damp. The noise from construction was unbearable. NOBODY AT RECEPTION TO COMPLAIN TO. Receptionist on check in was rude. Nobody at reception when checking out to speak to about issues so had to just drop key off. The lift was falling apart. Did not feel safe. The carpet was mouldy. The tv remote has STICKY STUFF on it. I have pictures of all of it!! This cost me £427!!! There is absolutely no way you can justify any of that. I expect a full refund!! My girlfriend travelled all the way from GERMANY for this. Absolutely cannot believe it. Disgraceful. If I do not receive a refund for this I will be posting these pictures on the review pages online. I was so upset and so heartbroken. I don’t get to see my partner often and this ruined our stay and our week. Please get in touch with me immediately regarding this.

Hotel is clean and pleasant enough. Staff were really friendly and helpful. My room was on the side next to the train tracks and honestly the noise was tremendous from trains running past every few minutes from 5 am I didn’t really get much sleep. I guess this was reflected in the price as was very cheap for London.

Absolutely awful place, stayed here a week ago and realised I got no sleep due to train lines, so give them benefit of doubt before I wrote a review. so requested a room on other side of hotel away from train lines to be told no I can’t “there all full” dingy grotty place on a real dodgy backstreet. Horrible place horrible staff, do yourself a favour don’t stay here (would rather sleep in my car) with no exaggeration.

I needed to stay in London for 5 days to attend a training course. The staff here have been exceptional looking after me and making me feel comfortable. The dinners were great and the bins, towels and bedding was changed when I needed them to. Rhi at reception was amazing to have around!!! 😄👍 She brought a smile to my face and made me feel really comfortable! I would definitely stay at this hotel when the next training course. I would definitely recommend this hotel!!! 😇 Many thanks guys! 🤝

This hotel is right next to a busy railway line, so if you’re easily disturbed by noise, it probably isn’t for you. However, if this isn’t an issue for you, it’s in a brilliant location for access to tube stations, bus routes, bars, cafés and restaurants, Brick Lane, and the Tower of London. It’s a bit down at heel, but the rooms are clean, the beds are comfortable and the staff are lovely.

Great location, beautiful surrounding atmosphere, and great staff . Most friendly and helpful receptionist and staff ever, lovely and great first impression of hotel. Everything about the hotel was exceptional. It was clean, stylish, roomy with excellent service in where we had dinner. The food was good and great value for money and service was attentive and efficient. Room itself was well equipped and comfortable. I was very pleased with my stay. I hope to be back for a longer visit in the future.

As you walk in to the hotel you have a lot of space as reception is very spacious and when you get into the lift go to 1st floor corridors they're very narrow and you struggle with luggage. The room is quite big and bathroom has a lot of space but not much hangers. There is a lot of noise coming from the train tracks but we read the reviews prior to coming and bought ourselves ear plugs.
