Very noisey - music from the pub below and then when the pub closes, the staff go to their rooms and put on loud music. The walls are paper thin. The toilets are not connected to the main system, so when the toilet is flushed there is a really loud noise for around 4 minutes - we thought at first... more

I stayed at the Black Lion last weekend as I was down in London on a bit of a friend’s reunion. I booked it all on line and was pleasantly surprised when they did actually have my booking unlike some hotels I have stayed in. It’s a nice period building but the room was modern and clean and the staff... more

My husband and young son stayed at the Black Lion 2 weeks ago when we travelled to London for a family wedding. The hotel building was fabulous - full of character and detail. The service was good, and we enjoyed the food. We found the location to be excellent - espcially as we do not know London very well. Its... more

we stayed at the Black lion during christmas and the new year, it was lovely and within a short walk from maida vale where my son lives. we had a huge en suite, very clean... We would have loved it more if they had rooms on the ground floor as i cant stand the stairs... would recommend it.. more

I stayed at the Black Lion guesthouse for 3 nights in a large double room. The guesthouse is over a grade II listed pub and restaurant, very friendly and helpful staff. It's a very good location to get to Hampstead and central London. At 40 pounds per night, it's good value for money, but the breakfast could be better. more

The blurb on the website led us to believe we were to be staying in a well run gastro pub, with a lovely breakfast thrown in. In fact we had cheap muffins from the 7-11, white sliced bread, processed ham and cheese. Everything was cheap, the room was noisy and stuffy. Never again - it wasn't good value for money. more

Anne, Galway, Ireland Take my advice and NEVER, NEVER, i mean NEVER book this accomodation. We booked for a party of ten - two double rooms - got e-mailed confirmation and confirmed over the phone. Got there at ten at night and were told we didn't have any accomodation booked. We could clearly see in the reservations book that our... more

I stayed at the Black Lion for one week while on a course in London and really enjoyed my stay. The staff were very welcoming. I loved that when I got back in the evening that I could get a very decent meal in the pub and a glass of wine. I eat there five nights out of seven. I... more

My mother recently stayed at the Black Lion guesthouse in Kilburn, London for one night. Although while it was booked the rate was £30, at the time of arrival, it was increased to £33. The room was tiny, not very clean, really noisy, the curtains were falling apart, the kettle was rotten, and even though the buffet breakfast was included... more
