We recently returned to the Celtic Hotel and were pleased to find renovations proceeding. This hotel's location can't be beat, nor can the price, which includes quite a nice breakfast. The bathrooms had been updated since our last visit. The staff was friendly and helpful. Please note that these are budget accomodations--bathrooms down the hall, stairs, no in-room tvs and... more

Hi, I stayed at this B & B during March 2009. I will say that this hotel is good vaue for money (at 65 pounds per night for a double), HOWEVER be warned: 1. This IS not to be confused with St Margaret's Hotel, Russell Square. Fours years ago I stayed at St Margarets Hotel, Russell Square: an old fashioned... more

The warm hospitality at the Celtic Hotel is its strongest feature. Our stay was for 7 days. Everyone we met went out of their way to be helpful. The location of this hotel is excellent, a short walk to the Russell Sq. Underground stop and a equally short walk to the beautiful park, Russell Square. There is a internet cafe a... more

After having experienced a number of great visits at the St. Margarets Hotel, I was sorry to hear that it had closed.... but then I received a message from Deborah who advised me that they had recently taken over management of the Celtic Hotel, near to Russell Square. So I booked on that basis. Celtic Hotel has one of best... more

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Celtic Hotel during a one night stopover in London. We weren't planning on spending too long in the hotel so it was exactly what we were looking for - cheap, clean and very central. Our room was really spacious (not our usual experience in London!) and spotless. Our budget didn't stretch to ensuite... more

The hotel is very clean and well presented and its got wifi. The only down side is you have to share a shower with a couple of people but during my stay I never had to que and its was always clean. The full english breakfast is very nice not to greasy. What stands out about this hotel is that... more

I needed a hotel for 6 hens in London, I needed something cheap and close to the West End. I orginally thought about staying in a travellodge but that got booked up. I work about 5 mins from the celtic and I thought I would go in and see what they had to offer. I could have 2 triple rooms... more

I have been to London before and had a terrible experience with a rude manager at a holiday Inn. I found everyone rude in London on that trip. 10 days before we were to set out to London in July'08 I was frantically looking for accommodation and couldn’t find anything available that would suit us. In desperation I called up... more

My two adult sons and I stayed at the Celtic for two nights in mid July and were very pleased by the accommodation, location, service and price. We had a family room for three, on top floor (four flights of stairs), just 85 pounds per night. Freshly re-decorated with three comfortable beds. The toilet was just outside the door, and... more

Everything about this small B & B was sweet. The rooms are a decent size for two people. Super clean! Shared bathrooms, not super clean...Under renovation while we were there, and we never heard a single hammer. The staff was really sweet and helpful. Free internet and good traditional English breakfast every morning. The waitresses aren't the best (or the... more
