It was so nice to see the Mazzinis again, and to be so warmly welcomed. Our room was great-- Mrs. Mazzini said it hadn't been renovated yet, but it was dead clean, bright and cheerful, and had huge windows that opened-- always a plus with us. The bonus is that the Brunswick Centre, which had become run down to the... more

The Celtic Hotel continues the tradition of the St. Margaret's Hotel, just at a new address. We spent three great nights at this little B&B and had simply wonderful breakfasts. The coffee was especially good. Our hosts were very well versed about the Bloomsbury area of London and the maps found on the hotel website were quite useful. The room... more

The Celtic Hotel is quite simply the best value for money of any hotel I have stayed in London. A family operated business with delightful proprietors the accommodation feels like home. The courtesy and customer care are elegant, charming and efficient. The rooms are tastefully decorated in an uncluttered and completely unpretentious way, which always helps one relax. The morning... more

Once again it has been a great pleasure to stay with the Marazzi family, owners and proprietors now at the Celtic Hotel. I've been staying with them at the St Margaret's Hotel since about 1989, and moved around the corner with them when they shifted to the Celtic. As always, the service was excellent; the staff is friendly and helpful,... more

I stayed at the Celtic on recommendation of some friends, who are savvy budget travellers. We were interested in the location, which is superb - very close to British Museum, in bloomsbury, near Kings X, etc, and we wanted something under £100 for two. The Celtic certainly did very well by all of this. We booked ahead and got a... more

I returned to the Celtic Hotel for a two-night stay in mid-July and was not disappointed. The room I got was immaculate, comfortable and quiet (even with windows open at night). No TVs in rooms. Great incentive to read more at night. The location can't be beat - a few short blocks to British Museum, and one block to Russell... more

I was in London just for the night and hadn't bothered to book anywhere as I can usually find somewhere to say. Having forgotten that it was pay weekend in the middle of the summer holidays however by 11:00pm (after sampling the alcoholic delights of the city) I had no where to stay. Heading through Tavistock Square and then into... more

We stayed June 25 - June 30, 2009. The good: Location is super. Tube from Heathrow to Russel Square is easy and inexpensive. The neighborhood is convenient to many sites, beautiful, and full of pubs and nice restaurants. The staff is so sweet. The ladies at breakfast are so nice and the coffee was nice and strong. The food is... more

We spent seven nights at the Celtic while sightseeing in London. The location is only about 2 blocks from the Russell Square tube on the Picadilly line (goes to Heathrow). Good variety of restaurants and Pubs close by. The rooms are clean but small and funky. The staff is delightful. The Full English breakfast is good. I never had to... more

We recently returned to the Celtic Hotel and were pleased to find renovations proceeding. This hotel's location can't be beat, nor can the price, which includes quite a nice breakfast. The bathrooms had been updated since our last visit. The staff was friendly and helpful. Please note that these are budget accomodations--bathrooms down the hall, stairs, no in-room tvs and... more
