I was staying in Middlesbrough for nearly 2 weeks for a course at TWI North and found the Grey House by chance. I was made to feel instantly at home there, I had plenty of peace and quiet to study (with free WiFi too) and found it very easy to get to TWI in the mornings (between 7-15mins depending on... more

arrived late on Friday evening after 5 1/2 hr tiring road journey. Attending a course at James Cooke Hospital. I was accompanied by my husband and little dog who we had to bring at last minute. Warm welcome from the delightful Jana, whole house was warm and had a beautiful smell. Our room was first class, immaculate clean fresh linen,... more

Tiny little B&B arrangement in the suburbs of Middlesbrough. The rooms are distinctive and fun. They are in no way pokey or dirty. The staff are great. It's miles away from anywhere, so you need taxis or a keen enthusiasm for walking. Lovely garden setting. more

This guesthouse is a gem! It is Edwardian and is appropiately furnished. Janna is so good at her job. I think she is a perfectionist. Every detail is correct.and The hotel is so clean. The breakfast is cooked to order. A proper computor is available for free in the sittingroom.and Wifi is in all bedrooms. A selection of daily newspapers... more

Having stayed in a dozen or so hotels (many of them dodgy!) in and around Teesside, the Grey House is the best by a mile. First, it's in the posh area of Middlesbrough (Linthorpe)- so it's surrounded by fantastic double-fronted Victorian properties and is a quiet neighbourhood. Second, Jana, the manager, is fantastic - friendly and helpful- customer service is... more

Arrived quite late in the evening for a 1 night stay which was a terrible shame as I did not have much time to enjoy what has to be one of the best B&B's in the country. The owner was very friendly, the spacious room had beautiful antique furniture and the matching four poster bed was very comfortable. The bathroom... more

This is an excellent b&b. Nothing is too much trouble for the owner, who is very friendly and genuinly interested. I would recommend this to anyone - a gem of a place. more

I've just stayed in the best reviwed B&B in Cork and felt compelled to write this review because this is every bit as good. I've stayed at the Thistle Hotel but never will again after discovering this gem. Everything is perfect and nothing is too much trouble. It's located in a lovely area of Middlesbrough (there is one - honest!).... more

I've just returned from a 2 night stay at the Grey House Hotel, situated in the leafy outskirts of Middlesbrough (Linthorpe). It's an old house converted into the most delightful of hotels with only 9 or 10 rooms. You enter through mature, very attractive gardens. The first thing I noticed as we walked in through the door was the clean,... more

I was stuck in Middlesbrough and found the Grey House by luck from the yellow pages. Upon arrival in a quiet residential neighbourhood [the hotel is a former private home with off street parking], it looked a little tired from the outside but inside... what a pleasant surprise. It's comfortably fitted out with everything you'd find at home. A separate... more
