After finding this place by chance on the internet we decided we had to give it a try after the numerous great reviews it had received. We certainly weren't disappointed....from the beautiful flowers in our room on arrival through to the homecade cakes brought up to us at teatime, Jan certainly made every effort to make our stay really special.... more

We chose this place for a break after reading all the other reviews -it was the only place we could find that had all excellent reviews. It definitely lived up to what we had read about it. We stayed in the Green Room - very comfy bed, lovely big shower, lovely toiletries etc. Jan made us a pot of tea... more

My partner and I stayed at 38 St Giles with the previous reviewer on here - so I won't repeat an eloquent review, except to say we whole heartedly agree with all said. Added to that, our dietary needs (wheat-free) were catered to wonderfully with freshly baked orange and polenta cake (heavenly) and freshly bought wheat-free bread the following morning.... more

We go to Norwich quite a bit, and normally stay at St Giles Hotel. However when they were fully booked we decided to stay at 38 St Giles. ...we will never stay anywhere else. 38 is a beautiful Georgian house that has been restored to an exeptionally high standard, but has a lovely relaxed feel about it. The rooms are... more

I'm not afraid to admit that it takes a lot to impress me. One of the perks of working in the travel industry is staying in some wonderful hotels, some even world class. I spend around 3 nights a week away from home often in a different hotel each night so I could be easily labelled a difficult travel customer... more

We have just returned from a 5 night stay at 38 St Giles: The place itself and the hospitality is totally unique, no wonder that not one review on TripAdvisor so far includes a single negative comment. We stayed in the Brown Room: Just like a boutique hotel with beautiful décor, lots of space and great with the sofabed in... more

38 St Giles has recently acquired 3 parking spaces in a gated forecourt which is only about 100 metres on foot from the hotel but a hard to spot series of turns by car. The quality of the welcome and the service can be judged from this: Jan asked me to phone from the car on arrival. She immediately popped... more

If you are looking for some where to stop in Norwich this is the place to stay. The location is very central, the rooms are fantastic, great bathrooms, good breakfast to set you up for the day. And jan is a lovely host, nothing is to much trouble. They also have car parking which is a bonus in a busy... more

I have travelled afar, stayed in many 5* hotels and am not easily impressed but this was one of the best places I have stayed. The breakfast was amazing - home made preserves, fresh bread, farm produce, delicious fresh squeezed juice. Home made cakes in the room. Amazing hosts - they said they would cook breakfast to suit me, not... more
