Stayed here with a bunch of mates for a night. Good location - just off the top end of the high street in the middle of town - so only a quick crawl home at 2:00am..... Room was large, very warm, and the bathroom, although very small was well equipped and didn't feel old or worn. My room was right... more

Very clean, appears to have been recently renovated. (In fact one area might still be undergoing renovation.) Helpful, friendly staff. If you're a walker it's within walking distance of most areas of interest to tourists. Very quiet also, no issues with noise or distractions at all. We appreciated the high-intensity reading lights on the bed, and the in-room tea making... more

Lovely hotel, though layed a bit like a giant maze... pleasant rooms, nice breakfast and friendly staff... not your 5 stars dream hotel but good enough to stay in when you need a decent place that doesnt rip you off... more

I recently stayed at this hotel and was impressed. It is very reasonable priced and the newly refurbished room was lovely. Breakfast was a bit ordinary and they will probably refurbish the reception and restaurant areas but that's not where you spend the night. No noise either and a castle view. I would definitely return. more

This hotel has character. More specifically, it has a character from the Fast Show's taylors sketch as one of the floor managers. As he put up the cot in our room and asked if there was "Anything else you need, sir?", it was all I could do to stop myself replying, "Do you sir? Do you?" Come for the visit... more

The hotel is very centrally located in Norwich. The building is old and full of character. The main areas are very charming, the staff friendly and welcoming, but the room was very disappointing. Dark, small and very dated. Bathroom had stained grouting and toilet bowl, although it was clean and tidy. I believe they are in the process of updating... more

Ive read reviews about this hotel prior to staying and was expecting it to be a bit run down and in need of some TLC. However, I was pleasantly surprised. It appears to have had a bit of a make over and the room was lovely. The bar and restaurant are very attractive and the service was attentive. more

I booked my parents into this hotel and was a bit worried as it is old and fairly cheap. It lived up to our expectations - a bit rough round the edges - net curtains fell down in the bedroom, bathroom fittings loose etc. Staff seem quite inexperienced and dis-interested. Still, the room was a good size and the location... more

we went for a wedding which was fantastic, unfortunalty the hotel can not take much credit for this. Over priced, and understaffed throughout the whole stay of (£85 per night) Thursday to Sunday. The bar rarely had anyone serving, and when they ran out of ice at 9pm were told that the best place to get some was iceland! On... more

Going through a refurb i think as they had some scafolding up and the waitress at breakfast said they were doing some bedrooms. Its not noisy though, i wouldn't have known if i hadn't have asked. Hotel... more
