Having stayed at this hotel a number of times before, I recently returned, as the organiser, with a group for a weekend break to see the Thursford Spectacular and I cannot compliment the management and staff enough for the exemplary running of the hotel. Currently undergoing refurbishment this did not detract from the welcome and comfort within the hotel. The... more

the bedroom we got was awful, decor was the worst ive ever seen, the room was so hot and you couldnt turn the heating down, bathroom had hair still left in the bath, only 1 channel worked on the tv, we had to change rooms 3 times before we actually got one which was at an ok standard. Hotel needs... more

This hotel was appalling. It was smelly and dirty. The rooms needed redecorating and were very pokey. The carpets were so filthy I would only walk on them when wearing socks. The shower curtain was filthy. The TV never worked properly despite my efforts to get it fixed. There wasn't a plug anywhere near a mirror so using a hairdryer... more

A group of twenty golfers stayed here last weekend and it suited us perfectly. We were given a private room for all our meals which worked very well. The food, service, friendliness of the staff and the quality of the rooms were all fine. Plenty of space in the car park and very reasonable prices to complement an excellent weekend.... more

Was very disappointed. The room given was very tired. The carpet was very dirty looking. There was no milk for the morning cup of tea. There were cobwebs hanging down over the bed and the worst bit was the toilet seat which looked as though someone had taken a chunk out of it - certainly not hygenic. The bathroom was... more

Stayed at hotel the night before we went boating from Brundall. Although the hotel had a wedding that day and were busy, the staff were helpful and curteous. Had a room in the annexe, and my sister stayed in hotel. Annexe room did have 'a smell' but was very clean. Evening meal in restaurant was really nice and all four... more

Stayed in the George mid-week whilst on business - many of the other large hotels in Norwich were full. It's a pleasant hotel in a quiet residential area about 5 - 10 mins taxi ride south-west of the city centre and train station. I was given room 138 - a first floor room with a comfortable double bed, several huge... more

The restaurant attached to the hotel provided great food - the evening meal was great and reasonably priced. Staff were friendly and accommodating. However, the hotel needs a good refurbishment. The rooms were clean but very shabby. Worn out carpet through the hallways and the back rooms of the hotel had a musty smell to them. My request to change... more
