Booked for one night via tourist hotel web site. PICTURES LOOKED GOOD. But then they would because they are the only selling point this flea pit has to its name. Check in was ok, but I kept wondering why the lighting was so low. Paid up front which was a big mistake. Shown to our room, and I stood still... more

My husband and I stayed here Fri 19th Oct. Initial impression was that it was very shabby. We had to ask them to clean the bedroom carpet as it didn't look as though it had seen a hoover for months. While he was doing this we ventured to the bar which was supposed to be open but nobody appeared so... more

We arrived to find the place looking extremely run down. Wallpaper peeling off the walls, carpets from the last century and a terrible smell in our room. Unfortunately, we had lads from a stag night staying at the same time and was kept awake, poor sound proofing. Breakfast was cold and disgusting, asked them to warm it up which they... more

I sat in the chair in the corner and the leg came off, the drawers for the chest were blocked of by the bed and there was a leaking tap. Everytime a toilet was flushed i could hear it, it was freezing cold in the room all night, they only did breakfast and the restaurant was closed at all other... more

I had stayed at the Cumberland the previous year and found it to be not wonderful, but OK. Last year, however, things had got even worse. The service was, at best, average. There were no local tourist info leaflets available in reception, there were no staff in the hotel overnight (so pray that there isn't a fire!), and when I... more

Oh dear, Stayed for the Norwich Beerfest. The hotel booked via the tourist board website. Oh how pictures can lie. If your weekend experience is a trip back to the 70's then you will have a blast! Rooms are dated, and by that i mean old old old. One of our party had a room that was not cleaned, another... more

Stayed 2 nights to watch the football game at norwich, found the hotel to be neat and clean though little bit dated, food was excellent with a good selection of wines and beers. Would certainly recommend anyone on a resonable budget to stay here as they will enjoy good service from the staff. more

We recently held a function at the cumberland hotel. The food was the best that we have ever eaten and the standard of service was so good with all the staff - who were very friendly and courteous. The manager was at hand and made our whole day a joy. In our opinion this is one of the best places... more
