Well the fishing didn't come off but the Blue Boar was a great place to stay. There were 8 of us in the group and this worked out to be an ideal venue. The rooms were good for the price and all of the staff were very friendly. Both the bar food and breakfast were top notch.

We recently drove from Cheshire to Norwich for our godsons wedding and booked 2 nights at the blue boar. We went there because the wedding reception was at Sproston Hall, a Marriott hotel and golf club ,who wanted a fortune for a room. The blue boar was less than 5 mins drive from Sproston hall. The staff were very welcoming,... More

We had the most fantastic time at the Blue Boar in March to wave our Daughter off to Australia. This is the second party we have held there (see previous review) and once again the staff were wonderful in accommodating our requests. They all worked extremely hard to ensure that everything went smoothly and the buffet was top-notch. The small... More

After a six hour drive to get to the Blue Boar for a one night business overnight, I entered the bar thinking it was a busy local with less than high expectations considering the price of the room, but its only one night, how bad can it be? How wrong I was! Friendly staff right from check in, room was... More

I found a room advertised on laterooms.com for a double bed with private bathroom. Originally priced at £65 but with a special offer of £15 off bringing the price down to £50. When trying to book through laterooms online, a message indicated that the booking needed to be made with the hotel directly. I called up the blue boar and... More

Dear Madam, Thank you for taking the time to review the Blue Boar. I am sorry that you feel you had a bad experience in booking a room but perhaps I can explain the situation again. Laterooms do not sell rooms independently of hotels, the hotels themselves manage discounts and number of rooms available to Laterooms. The discounted price you... More

Travelled up from Basingstoke for the Norwich vs Reading football match. After spending a few days trawling the web and finding nothing but overpriced B&B’s and hotels in Norwich I finally found The Blue Boar, and what a good find it was! We stayed for 1 night. The room was spacious, clean and tidy with a firm bed, large TV... More

Although from the outside The Blue Boar Inn doesn't look like anything special, the staff and services provided were great. We stayed there for one night with two small children and it was just what we needed. The rooms were spacious and the restaurant downstairs served lovely food! We went to BeWILDerwood the next day and it was around a... More

We had an excellent stay at the Blue Boar. It was very clean, airy, bright, very well stocked with tea coffee etc. and had a well stocked mini-bar. The staff were totally wonderful and breakfast was very good. It is unusual for us to find accommodation that exceeds our expectations!! We will certainly return when we next visit Norwich. Thank... This is the 4th time we have stayed at the Blue Boar. Although it is a pub with rooms the accommodation is spacious, clean and has everything you need including iron and ironing board, fan, extra pillows, flat screen TV, full size fridge, hairdryer and umbrella. They also supply bubble bath which is a nice touch. We stay in room... More

Visited Bank Holiday Monday with no booking. Although busy staff were able to find us a table for five. Staff were pleasant and helpful. Food was great with good size portions. The fish and chips were huge.
