We stayed for a week at Mistal Cottage, the best one on site (supposedly 4-star rated). First impressions were poor: the owners did not seem pleased to see us despite us arriving in the requested 2-hour time slot on Saturday afternoon. The building itself is attractive but left a lot to be desired. The beds were uncomfortable due to springs that could clearly be felt when laid on; the dishwasher failed to heat up; and the washer/drier required 2 or 3 times the normal time to dry clothes. The latter problem had been reported by multiple guests but still the owners persisted in blaming the users. Also beware: there are several low beams in the cottage – unless you are under 4 feet tall you are certain to bang your head numerous times.
