We have just come back from a three night stay at Kipper Cottage, we booked this having previously enjoyed a number of very good meals at the White Horse and Griffin. We didn't think there would be a need to read trip advisor but we really wish we had now. The cottage location was great but that's the only positive... more

Our daughter decided she wanted to spend her 18th Birthday in her favourite UK seaside destination so we booked the White Horse and Griffin for a luxury weekend. Instead of staying in the Inn we had a house on the other side of town, which is owned and looked after by staff from this Inn. It was a very beautiful... more

We have eaten at the White Horse and Griffin many times but this was our first stay in the hotel. After reading many reviews on trip advisor we were a little worried. However you have to take into account how old this buidling is. The odd shaped rooms and odd layout all add to the charm of the place. Our... more

The photos of the white horse and griffin are very deceiving. They do not give a true representation of the rooms. We were very disappointed. Thank goodness it was only for one night! more

We have just returned from another wonderful stay at the White Horse and Griffin. As always it was just as we expected. Stuart and his staff were as friendly as ever. Food great and our room the Warrier Queen was just want we wanted. (yet again). The location of the hotel is brilliant - central amongst the hustle and the... more

Me and my wife stayed here for 2 nights. On arriving we could not find the reception and had to walk through people having their lunch to find somebody to take us to our room. We stayed in the Bagatelle room which was up four flights of stairs and hidden away in the attic. The room was bright, clean and... more

Noisy ventelation shaft in room. Bathroom very small & badly laid out with toilet in realy awkward raised position. Cold sink tap was in fact the hot one. No retaining... more

It consist of one double bed and one single. After a walk round Whitby we decide to have night in and watch the telly. This didn't work, plus the fact there was no heating and the room... more

I have just returned from a glorious stay at this hotel. The room I was allocated was on the top floor and at my age (I've been 40 for 40 years now!!!!) was quite a hike! My daughter and her husband had the room next door which was very nice, as was mine. On arrival we were treated to a... more
