We booked two rooms for Aug 30 to accommodate my wife and her parents (Czech citizens) and myself, an Indian immigrant. One of the rooms simmered at at least 35 deg celsius and nothing, absolutely nothing was done. In fact, seeing our origins, we were 'educated' about the hotel's heating system in sheer arrogance by staff basking in self awarded... more

Lovely location between Sandsend and Whitby, very scenic. Large old stone manor house - windows in restaurant very draughty ! Rooms spacious, very tastefully decorated, en suite and all in superb decorative order and immaculately clean. Beautiful grounds and mini golf. Breakfast - very good selection of different breakfasts from full english to Whitby Kippers, porridge, cereals etc. If I... more

We went to Dunsley hall with 3 generations. The hotel suited all of us perfectly. The kids liked to play on the lawn, and everyone enjoyed the large, very english drawing room to sit. read and relax. We initially went as a walking holiday, but only decided to do one main walk! Even though the hotel is not quite in... more

Stayed Friday and Saturday nights. Room 3 is ready for an update especially the bathroom which doesn't have a shower. Friday night was fine, the hotel being in an excellent location with friendly reception staff. On the Saturday we were asked to put back our dinner time to 8 30 from 8 pm, however the bar was full of wedding... more

Service was efficent & polite, but not personal... Stayed in the 4 poster room for 2 nights during the August bank holiday, room was excellent, very large & grand, very clean indeed. I would recomend this to anyone wanting to 'get away from it all', quite a luxury really, you do get what you pay for !! Restaurant was very... more

Whitby. Home of thousands of perfectly acceptable guest houses and bed and breakfasts. However for something a little special (and relatively affordable for a family with two children 14 and 10) this hotel was a little piece of luxury. Very pleasing to the eye historically and if you like clean bathrooms and pristine bedlinen - this is the place for... more

My wife and I combined a trip on the nymr dining service with a stay at the Dunsley Hall. The two compliment each other perfectly so we are awash with nostalgia. The hotel is a hidden gem and I would definetly return. more

We've just returned from a weeks stay at Dunsley Hall and couldn't be more pleased. I booked the room direct with them a little while ago and agreed a preice for a delux room with sea view and wasn't disappointed. The room was fantastic with a four poster bed and views across to Sandsend and Whitby. When we arrived we... more
