We stayed in Victoria House, which can accomodate 6 guests August 2006. Although the location of the house was convenient as described in the internet details for the lovely town of Whitby, few of the other details advertised there were accurate. A major surprise and disappointment was there was no freezer (and never has been we subsequently discovered). We expected a freezer as the property was described as having one - untrue and misleading to say the least and very inconvenient in August for a family. The crockery was sparse and horribly chipped and cracked. I have never stayed in self-catering accomodation with this problem before so presumably damaged items are usually replaced as part of a routine and ongoing basic maintenance program. The downstairs living room was shabby with seats stained and in need of repair or replacement. The 4 poster bed, again described in the property details (and in a photo) was non-existent in the property.
