We spent 3 nights at the Buck Inn and were very pleasantly surprised at the level of service and room accommodation that we found. The pub is in a fantastic location right on the harbour and so everywhere local is easily accessible.

This bar is good value, with amazing staff. One of the bar staff saw that my boyfriends pint of bud was a little on the flat side, so took it away and poured him a new one which was perfect! (Note, he had already drank 1/3 of the drink and wasn't complaining before the lad took it away) that's great... More

We had a clean, compact, comfortable and tasteful room with en suite shower in the centre of Whitby, also a picturesque view across the river. Another attraction is free parking, but take care the entrance/exit is narrow. Breakfast is available in various cafes in short walking distance from about 8:30 am. Our hosts were friendly and helpful. Overall good value.... More

The Buck Inn is very central & easy to find from Whitby station. Both double guest bedrooms have utterly stunning views over the harbour to the (in)famous 199 steps to the parish church on the headland with the eerie ruins of St Hilda's Abbey beyond. I doubt if these views could be bettered in all of Whitby. The rooms were... More
