Although I could not imagine myself sharing a bathroom, the experience at Bull Lodge was beyond expectations. The guest house was VERY clean, the bathroom on the first floor well equipped with brand new facilities, the single room I was staying at was very warm and cosy, tidy and the pink sheets had a very nice soft feeling. English breakfast... More

I have such sweet memories of this guest house. The owners are wonderful. It was a great pleasure just talking to them, and they were very, very kind and attentive. The atmosphere there is absolutely special. When I entered my single room, I was amazed at how cozy and lovely it was. The whole place is like your grandparents home.... More

Stayed here for two nights May 2012. Very friendly and helpful. I stayed in a comfy single room, and good breakfast and great value for money. Perfect! All clean, basic and straightforward. Although there are en-suites, I stayed in a room with shared bathroom, which was spotlessly clean and had nice hot shower. I brought my little folding bicycle for... More

I stayed for three nights and had a great stay. Bull Lodge is an easy 10-minute walk to the city centre and only five minutes from one of the entrances to the city walls. York itself is fairly compact so it's easy to walk around. The service I received at Bull Lodge was outstanding. Breakfast was cooked to order and... More

I had a number of long-term stays in 2008 before moving to York, and Bull Lodge was an excellent choice: well located (close to the city as well as the university), friendly owners, great breakfast (cooked to order, good choice), and some very nice extras such as puzzles and newspapers every morning, board games and books available at the front... I spent 3 mid-week nights at the Bull Lodge so that I could take in the York Food and Drink Festival and enjoy a couple of days walking in the North York Moors and the Yorkshire Wolds. The location on the Hull Road is why I chose the Bull Lodge, as it was easy to get to and from without... More

Stayed here for a weekend to visit the delights of york, good location, takes about 10 minutes to reach the centre if walking brisk. Extremely clean rooms, very cosy, nice touches were books in the drawers and papers at breakfast. Lovely ensuite bathroom with lovely hot shower. Very nice breakfast with good choice. Stayed for 4 nights, the room was very clean, with towels changed every day. The`motel style` room was perfect for me as I`m unsteady on my feet and can`t manage stairs well,. It is flat and plenty of room should a wheelchair be being used. Food was marvelous, cooked to order and piping hot, it set us up for the... More
