“Just what we wanted, right in the middle of York.”

We stayed in "The Photo Room", which is a double bed with ensuite bathroom. There was a TV and a window overlooking some city's rooftops. “Value for money!”

went for a two night stay here for my friends hen do, the rooms were very clean and facilities were excellent. Very central and within walking distance from Yorks attractions! “Clean, tidy. Best hostel”

The staff here are definitely the best I have seen, they are really friendly and helpful. The hostel was nice, the room was clean and tidy. I think this was the best hostel I had stayed in my six day trip to Scotland and York. The hostel has a bar & restaurant, Kennedy's Bar, which provided good food and drink.... More

“nice rooms, really noisey”

We stayed here at short notice, the rooms them selves were lovely, however the sound insulation is awful, the hostel is above a bar which on the weekends plays loud music up until 4am, we barely got a minutes sleep.

The fort is great as it is right in the centre of the medievel part of town. When you open the ront door you are surrounded by pubs, quaint shops and tea rooms. went to York for girls weekend . concerned as staying in hostel but what a find. very central clean rooms good showers towels fluffy and staff excellant helpful friendly etc . well worth it for cheap clean and slightly different accomodation

“DIRTY HOSTEL”

I was visiting York couple of days a go ,i stop in The Fort Boutique.Room was dirty,toilet smelly and dirty.In general place its not so nice as some review are saying.For sure i will not go back there anymore.

Thank you for your comments. As the private rooms were booked out for a group booking I can only assume you stayed in one of the mixed dormitories. The toilets, bins and communal areas are cleaned every day in the dormitories. Over the past few weeks the dormitories have been extremely full so maybe the mess accumulated quicker than normal....
