This 3* hotel was not great. We were given a room that was clearly for families - pretty run down, separate beds (!), and quite tatty. Spent New Year at the Ramada York. To sum it up. Beautiful hotel with great potential, but poor service. Rang up prior to booking twice to ensure I was allocated a particular room, when I got there it was allocated to some one else as there was no note on the system. Very annoying. Had a three day break at this hotel. The hotel and rooms were beautiful but the staff were even better from Reception to Management they did their utmost to make our stay memorable. The Restaurant with the Manager Basil was fantastic and my wife and I are planning our next visit more
