Just enjoyed a weekend stay at the Cumbria House. Chris and Janet were very welcoming and friendly. Rooms were clean and comfortable and breakfast was enjoyable. Just had a brilliant weekend in York staying at Cumbria House! Warmest of welcomes from the owners, lovely room, great breakfast , few minutes walk into City and at an unbelievably reasonable price! We recently spent two nights at the Cumbria house Bed and Breakfast in York. Of all the B&B's we stayed in, it was one of the poorest. The landlord was blunt & gruff to the point of being downright rude and seemed far more interested in telling us what we could not do rather than what we could. The room... more

This B&B is located about a 15 minute walk from town in a residential area. The quad room was small but interesting and the room was very clean. The toilet and shower were shared with one other room but we never saw the other occupant.Breakfast was nice and they took pains to be sure we all got what we wanted. more
