Exterior of hotel Shabby and worn looking.Net curtains un-ironed and full of wrinkles.Carpets grubby . WARNING = Dont stay at St Denys, we went for a weekend break there 14th - 16th,March, while we were out on the saturday morning our room was serviced and 2 designer cosmetic items were taken from our personal belongings. Four of us arrived and given keys to our rooms. We were given keys to rooms 11 and 8. The lady watched us all walk upstairs and we found our room but room 11 was nowhere to be found. Going back downstairs it was found to be opposite reception!! Our room was very shabby and dusty. The carpet was tacky.... more

Booked stay in York for my partners birthday, location good, accomodation depressing, bed hard and uncomfy, layer of dust and hairs on skirting boards, yuk, couldn't get away quick enough, regret not booking Premier Inn, a few quid more, but you know what you are getting. more

Hotel staff unhelpful. Very poor welcome. Car park very small and when hotel is full cars can be blocked in. One day during our stay a car was blocking in every car in the car park and the owners could not be found, which meant no-one could get out of the car park.
