The hotel was very old fashioned and charming. I liked the outdated decor, it had character! All the corridors were wonky and our bathroom floor was squeaky but it all adds to the fun! Very friendly staff. Room 219 was very nice 4 poster bed and a jaquzzi bath, also overlooks the racecourse. Swimming pool small but nice. Tasty breakfast, anything you wanted you could have, very good service. Would certainly return to the Newington. Excellent location, nice 10 minute walk to the city centre.
