Just returned from a 2 night stay in the Carlton House Hotel, everything about Carlton House is first class. Our 3 young children thoroughly enjoyed it as it was their first time in York. This is one of a kind hotel, with the home from home comforts. We will hopefully be booking again as soon as we can. Loved it... more
Very charming and beautiful place with fantastic treatment and service. Very close to the old town and train station. I would certainly recomment it!! more
We really enjoyed our stay at the Carlton House, we had a very warm welcome, Mark and Melanie were very accomodating and couldn't be more helpful, moving cars etc in the rain for us. everyone who worked at the Carlton House couldn't have been nicer and it made a nice relaxed atmosphere The accomodation was warm (appreciated when soaked through!)... more
The service staffs were really friendly and helpfully, park service was great, room was lovely furnished. Just this could be better: the room, especially the bath, was a bit too cold and the kettle was rusty inside. more
My daughters and I stayed at Carlton house for a de-stressing, get together weekend. The hotel is well situated - just a short walk into York and to the station. A very relaxed, warm atmosphere in the house, with very friendly staff. Great breakfast and service - Thank you. more

Fantastic family run b&b. Great location friendly staff. Good sized clean modern room with excellent facilities. Car park and within walking distance of city and numerous restaurants. more
Stayed Friday to Sunday in October. Lovely and clean guest house,located just 10 mins away from city centre. We had a double room which was excellent with very nice modern ensuite bathroom . Tea/coffee/bottled water/biscuits supplied in room which also had a nice flat screen television. Towels changed daily . Breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice from cereals to... more
a standard, well-run, guest house. we had a large room that was clean, but not luxurious. the location is great, a 10 minute walk from the city centre. The owners were helpful, and provided useful tips on where to eat and what to see. more
We arrived late in the afternoon and we were only able to go on the Ghost Walk Tour that statrs in front of the Shambles. It was an enjoyable tour. Within walking distance of the town center. The Carlton house is a lovely B&B. more
