We were so looking forward to this exeperience but actually found the ghosts friendlier than the staff. The room was authentic in that it didn't look like it had been cleaned for centuries. The bathroom in Lady Peckett's room needs a jolly good clean. I suggest the landlady spends a bit less time being rude to the customers and a bit more having a go at that filthy grout. We stayed for 2 nights in the Minster Suite. If you want a spotless four-star room, there are several chain hotels in York and the Golden Fleece isn't for you. Stayed one night with friends in the minster suite that was enough .It was not very clean no light at all in the bathroom and at front the noise of deliverys at 5am was really bad. The staff were friendly and helpful thats about the only good thing. more
