I have stayed in Travelodges on several occasions in the past. It is fair to say that I have been a supporter of the brand. I appreciate the “no frills” approach and basic but adequate facilities that are promoted, but the service we received was nothing less than shambolic. I am usually a fan of Travelodges and stopped here a few years ago and it was fine. But on this occasion we were right at the front of the building and the traffic noise was really bad even with the window shut. The room was also far too hot. For £29 for a family room you couldn't go wrong really. Friendly, helpful reception staff (we were a pillow short but a quick trip to reception soon remedied that) and clean, airy room. You don't get breakfast included and the "breakfast bag" offered by the hotel was nowhere near as good value as the breakfast from the Wetherspoons pub below... more

Stayed here for one night with hubby and kids (4 & 7), only paid £29 for the family room. After seeing other reviews we found the cheap parking round the corner (no fee after 6pm). The first room we was alocated was above the pubs smoking area, so we asked to be moved and they did that with no problems...... more
