I was concerned after reading some of the indifferent reviews. However the room was clean if not a little spartan. What would you expect for the rates they charge? A great location, the staff were friendly and helpful. All in all a really good budget hotel choice. more

Having stayed here several years ago, we decided to book for a short spring break in April. However, we were very disappointed this time, the room was very grubby, holes in bedlinen, badly cracked sink, dirty showerhead and the breakfast room was closed. Although it is an ideal location I'm afraid we will not be returning. more

I understand the Travelodge chain is of the budget variety, but I think this one was a little too basic. I notice somebody mentioned the incessant banging outside Room 305? Well, my colleague stopped in that room and had exactly the same problem! Fortunately, it was possible to be moved to another room, but it seems a little troubling that... more

We stayed in the Travelodge Picadilly on Easter Sunday 2008. It is a short taxi dive from the train station costing about £3.50. Upon arrival you notice that the buiding is modern and smart looking, and it has a Wetherspoons pub joined onto it downstairs. We tried to check in at 12.15pm only to be told that check in started... more

We picked this hotel as it was so central, understanding that we would need to park 2 cars next door in the NCP car park . This is impossible in day time hours and our cars needed to be moved from another car park to NCP at 6 pm - weekend cost of parking in total - £32! 2 lifts... more

ROOMS: We stayed in two rooms - One double (two adults) and one family (two adults and a baby). The family room had plenty of space for a cot, which was waiting in the room when we arrived. Both rooms were clean and comfortable, with good quality TVs (more than 5 channels - if that's what you really care about?!).... more

We stayed in this travelodge for the location- a five minute walk into central York. No problems with walking in day or night, in fact we came by train and walked everywhere, old cities being awful for driving and parking. Loved York, highly recommend the railway museum- sounds boring but it was really good, and free! This travelodge was basic... more

We have just spent one night at this hotel. It is a typical Travelodge hotel. The room was clean and the bedding and towels also clean. The TV worked and their was plenty of tea, coffee etc. We slept very well and were woken by ducks on the river! The location is very good and is only a short walk... more

We have just enjoyed Friday & Saturday nite for only £26 a nite in a city that usually commands £70 a nite. Being adjacent to the city walls made walking a pleasure, either to the historic and interesting centre, around the walls or to the adjacent Wetherspoons for liquid and foodie refreshment. A vist to some of the many bars... more
